QC Issues?
Adam R.
Unfortunately, I can confirm Brandon D's concerns--there are some major quality control and production quality issues with this tool. In addition to his accurate accounting of the transitions, sharpening, and functionality problems (which my PowerPint also exhibited), metallurgical problems already revealed themselves. The first time I finally had use for the can opener, it snapped in half trying to work its way into a can. Between that and the fact that my file was so curved that it impeded the tool's proper closing, I find myself very dissappointed.

To make it all the worse, SOG's lifetime warranty does NOT cover manufacturing defects of the tools in this MT--only the pliers and handles, not the tools themselves. Pretty dissapointing for $40, especially since the form factor and tool selection were excellent, if they were better quality. I'll be reluctant to purchase another MT by SOG again.
But dang SOG... Realy?

Fumble! Hey SOG if you can't make something nice you shouldn't make nothing at all...

I so very deeply want to love this MT because on paper it is near perfection. The sog compound plier design is awesome and the tool selection is pretty decent as well. I would happily pay twice the price or more for a truly high quality version. The problem is attention to detail on every level. In a world where the Leatherman Juice s2 exist I do not see how SOG thinks they can get away with poor fit and finish! I have a $20 Ganzo multi tools that is of a higher production quality!
I'll make a project out of it by sanding down sharp transitions, repurposing useless tools on the grinder, sharpening dull edges, Etc. Depending on the outcome I will update the review to a three star or one.

:-/ Sharp transitions
:-/ Blades not very Sharp
:-/ Suspect metal quality
:-/ Non-functional scissors and file
:-/ Bottle/can openers should both have drivers on the end.
:-/ Imprecise plier tip
:-/ Too tight to open/close one handed
:-/ Wish it was deep carry and left side option because my right hand carry is for a EDC folder so it falls open in my pocket on the leftside
:-/ Wish it had a real phillips screw driver like the Leatherman Juice and multiple flat heads on the end of other tools if not a truly dedicated
:-/ The line cutter is an unnecessary waist of space and bottle opener is a redundancy with a can opener right next to it that can do the same job.

:-) Great, magnificent, awsome concept!
:-) Cheap price... I guess if it wasn't cheap.
