The SWMP1BS has a gray T6061 aluminum handle with rubber inserts. It sports a black finished 4034 steel clip point blade with a partially serrated cutting edge. Includes pocket clip, safety, and glass breaker.
Smith and Wesson have this knife listed as a spring assisted knife, but in our opinion it is more of an automatic. The blade is deployed by either the thumb stud (spring assist) or you can push the button on the spine of the knife and it opens automatically. Either way, this is a GREAT knife and you'll be pleased! M.A.G.I.C. stands for Multipurpose Assisted Generational Innovative Cutlery.
The shape of the blade is very attractive and that's why I bought it. It's fine as an EDC knife. It's a little bulky and it doesn't fit so well in women's pants pockets but it's just fine in my bag. I don't love the assisted opening. I understand that's kind of the point of this knife (no pun intended) but I'd prefer it were manual. For me, $22 sale price works.
