This Enyo knife has a SpartaCoat Flat Dark Earth finished blade and skeletonized handle. Includes a coyote tan Kydex sheath and neck chain.
Enyo (i-nye-oh) was an ancient goddess of war, acting as a counterpart and companion to the war god Ares. This companion knife can be worn around the neck or in a pocket / inside the waist band (IWB). The Enyo’s design makes it a comfortable everyday carry fixed blade with great ergonomics. Enyo is perfectly suited for daily cutting tasks, and is always ready to assist the user. The form fitted Kydex sheath comes with a stainless steel neck chain, IWB loop and para-cord (2') for convenient carry options. Enyo lanyard includes a plated pewter Spartan helmet bead.
Spartan Blades was founded by Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey with the intent to provide the modern warrior and outdoorsman with knives that will serve them in a variety of missions and environments. They have a combined 40 years of military service and experience to draw upon in the design of their products. Spartan Blades produces knives that are highly functional and made from only premium materials.
I absolutely love this knife. I am a sucker for spartan blade shape and fde. The edge geometry is outstanding and comes EXTREMELY sharp. The included Kydex sheath is excellent and has an IWB belt loop attached thats adjustable to be carried horizontal or vertical, and yes it's strong enough to use OWB if you so desire. However, even though I purchased this knife to carry IWB I have been carrying it as a neck knife since day one. It's extremely light and fits the role beautiful, it can absolutely slice open boxes, envelopes, etc, however, I view and treat the knife more as a defensive stabbing/slashing type weapon as a backup to my handgun and I always have another pocket knife on me, usually a ZT0350 or Keizer Begleiter. I bought mine direct from Spartan and the steel is upgraded to S45VN, here on Blade HQ listing still shows S35VN so I'm not sure if they have the updated version or not, either way, theyre both great steels I just wanted the latest and greatest if I'm paying the same price. My one con would be the knife has two depression areas on the spine for your thumb, only the first one has jimping (and its excellent) however your thumb naturally wants to go to the second depression closer towards the tip because of how small the knife is and there's no jimping there. There is 2’ of paracord included, Kydex sheath with belt loop and a steel chain necklace so it comes ready to carry however you want. Best of all it's made in America but military veterans and I even received a handwritten thank you note in the box, small things like that mean a lot to me and are really part of why I love buying American. If you want a serious fixed blade, buy this knife, you will not be disappointed.
I was looking to purchase some Spartan Blades Knives, but no one sells them near me, so i took a chance and bought the Enyo to test the waters and i was not disappointed at all. The quality is second to none. The blade was RAZOR sharp. All of the reviews i've seen have been great, but in my opinion the blades are even better. If you're on the fence about buying one, just buy it, you wont be disappointed.
I got this as a birthday present from my girlfriend, she's the best. Her and the knife both get 5/5 stars. This thing is a little brick you never want to stop squeezing on. It feels so right in your hand you just can't let go. The sheath and the IWB attachment are incredible - so often fixed knives just bomb out on the sheath. Every molecule of whats inside the box you open is made in America out of American materials (if that's something you're into). The jimping is perfect and there are no rough edges. The tip allows for precision cutting in what would otherwise be a far too thick knife for its size. My one issue is that it is not a good slicer when you aren't using the tip, but it really isnt a big deal. I can easily strip the casing on wires and the thickness of it allowed me to ream some holes in plastic with no issues. I love it.
I got this knife on a recommendation from a friend. Very happy I did so, and have recommended it to many others. Pros: Primarily, the aesthetic. I've had knife people and non-knife people alike tell me how great they think it looks. Carry. Its really light, and comfortable to carry (I used the IWB loop, about 1 or 2 o'clock), and sometimes I would forget it was there. Ergonomic. I haven't wrapped the handle, nor do I plan to. Most bare metal handles I find to be unbearable, but I love the one on the Enyo. The jimping and finger groove put your hand in a very nice grip. It's only about a three finger grip, but with the included lanyard, it's really nice. Cons The ergos on the Enyo force you into a kind of one grip only hold. It is nice, but a reverse grip or even other forward grips aren't as ergonomic. The edge geometry isn't the best for all applications. The thick stock and modified drop point with a partial flat grind look great and mean the knife is a great slasher and stabber, but its cutting performance is sub-par compared to a full flat like a para 2. The edge came sharp, and I love S35VN, but don't expect super easy food prep or slicing performance. This is a great knife, and I've used it in my EDC for nearly a year now, and it never disappointed me. It's not an outdoors knife, go to an izula or MSK for that, but for a high quality, USA made, EDC fixed blade with an aesthetic beyond just an edge and a handle, I couldn't recommend it more.
