Enhance your PM2 with the Black Coated Short Titanium Pocket Clip from Lynch Northwest.

The Para Military knife from Spyderco is a classic in the truest sense of the word.

1. Of the first or highest quality, class, or rank:
2. Serving as a standard, model, or guide:
3. Basic; fundamental:
4. Of enduring interest, quality, or style:

There is a reason it is wildly popular among knife enthusiasts and is THE go-to knife for those looking for a no-nonsense cutting tool.

We've taken the Para2 platform and tweaked it slightly to bring you a unique knife that you'll be proud to have in your pocket or display case, while keeping the cost reasonable. The standard S30V steel blade has been upgraded with premium, black coated CPM M4 steel, a high-speed steel with fantastic toughness and edge retention qualities. The standard black G10 scales have been changed out for natural G10 scales, which have a unique translucent green color.

This next generation Spyderco Para-Military knife features a number of inspiring changes. The revised handle has a thinner profile at the end to improve the ergonomics and the ambidextrous four-way reversible pocket clip rests deeper in the pocket as well. The blade has an elongated profile, with an increased cutting edge, finger choil and thumb ramp. Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. The Para-Military still has the solid, confidence inspiring Compression Lock on the handle spine. Lastly, the size of the lanyard hole has been generously increased, giving the user more carry options. This all results in more than just change for the sake of change, it's a real improvement on an already great knife.

So I got my friend a like-new Para 3 for helping out at my wedding. At in the time that I had it in my hands, changing out the clip and giving it a few personal touches as a gift, I decided I had to have one. But with my XL hands, the Para 3 is just a tad small to deploy. Enter the PM 2: the knife I didn't know I needed until I met it's little sister.

Flick open, drop shut, slice through cardboard and cord and fabric--it's never yet let me down.

I have been carrying this knife since I got it! Love everything about it especially how it wears over time. Now I see all the hype from Spyderco they are making me lean away from carrying my Benchmade everyday. The scale color is also weirdly satisfying! Overall great purchase!
My first PM2
Everything I expected it to be. Great looking and functions flawlessly. Quick service from bladehq. As always great service.
worth it

beautiful knife I haven't personally carried it yet. I'm planning on swapping the blade with the recent 20cv tan exclusive from dlt. The action was pretty stiff on both out of box. This run was one of the most expensive pm2 exclusives but the fit and finish is there and the materials are sublime too. love it!
Perfecting the perfect knife

Fantastic sprint run! The knife seems to operate smoother than a traditional pm2. The scales look great and are extremely grippy. Looking forward to more exclusive Spyderco products in the future.
Very cool Sprint Run!

Awesome configuration of a classic Spyderco. I got carried away and got two of these when they dropped, and I am glad that I did. The one that I kept has great action, drops free, and has minimal lock stick, even when briskly "Spydie Flicked". The centering is spot-on, and the edge grind is fairly even, though not perfect (it doesn't really matter to me, as it will eventually go on my Wicked Edge and get re-profiled). The other one, the one that I wound up selling, had action that was a bit stiff, and no amount of pivot adjustment seemed to help. I am sure that it would eventually break in, but if I would have only purchased one and wound up with that one, I would have been disappointed.
Not happy with this specific PM2

I rotate between a few PM2's, one of which is in Maxamet (such a nice piece from BladeHQ). My go-to is the "blurple" PM2 (also from BladeHQ), which is so buttery smooth, and high in quality.
However, I cannot say the same of this M4 variant. The M4 PM2 was intended to be a keeper for me, but I just can't stand to handle the knife. The blade is far from being centered. The action is horribly stiff, and no amount of lubing, or working of the action, seems to help. The bevel's are uneven, which I could live with if that was the only flaw, as I am used to fixing factory edges. Lastly, they didn't DLC the liners, like they did in my M4 Manix.
In general, I expect more than this from Spyderco, but particularly out of a sprint run.
On a side note, I have purchased several knives from BladeHQ, because it's a great company with amazing customer service. This review is no knock on them.
Perfect Spyderco

This version of the paramilitary 2 checks all the boxes for any knife enthusiasts! Great job Blade HQ and Spyderco.
nice! but not perfect.

it's a nice knife but it could have been better.

...I like my M4 Manix better. I know it's blasphemous to say such things against the canonized, beautified, sanctified, deified PM2, but its the truth. The handle shape on the Manix is more to my liking; the big index finger choil and the slightly heavier, bulkier feel of it. And it has a larger blade with a slight downward tilt, which works in conjunction with the handle to give (me, anyhow) more force and more control.

All that said...the PM2 is still an outstanding knife, and M4 is unquestionably the best blade steel I've ever personally used. In fact, I have the uncoated Manix, but I love the DLC on this PM2, it makes blade care much eaiser...uh oh, maybe I really DONT like the Manix better, maybe I just know how to utilize it more effectively, and in time will be just as comfortable with the PM2...maybe I've totally rushed to judgement...ah crap...
My first PM 2.

After buying my delica last year I kept looking at a bigger/hard use knife and the PM 2 was my "want it" knife. I almost bought the blue/purple version. So....this Sprint run version came along and I had to bite. I watched the count down clock and boom got one!
Love the compression lock and the handle is probably the best I've ever had (I wear 2XL gloves at work). Very happy with the knife and only wish I had got one earlier.
My first Spyderco but definitely not the last.

Yup, i jumped into the deep end for my first Spyderco. I've always wanted one but nothing could ever really convince me to go ahead and buy one. That was until I spotted the natural g10/ DLC M4 PM2. The aesthetics are incredible and the premium steel had me sold. It does make me a tad nervous to do much with a non-SS blade but ill get over that, I guess. This really is more of a collectible/show-piece anyway really, but I'm still gonna carry it just because I love it that much. The action is butter and the compression lock is incredible. And talk about sharp. This pocket knife rivals my Dovo straight razor in the shave-readiness department!

I know these are out if stock now, but i would recommend a PM2 to anybody shopping for a big, scary sharp EDC knife. I'll definitely be adding another (or more) to my collection.
Great exclusive

Love the pm2, this version is a great piece as I prefer the dlc coated blades when it comes to M4. Knife was a little stiff out the box, still need improvement on quality control. Overall great exclusive from BHQ.

Sprint Run, but Average Quality

I know what you're thinking already, 3 stars on a paramilitary 2 review... I do own the black / digi camo PM2 and I absolutely love it. From the first flick out of the box it was buttery smooth and reliable / wicked sharp... Which is why I cannot give this knife more than 3 stars. I'm not sure if it was the hype, or my expectations... but I expected this knife to perform just as good if not greater than the one I currently own. First thing I notice out the box is it was extremely rough and stiff to deploy. It was so bad that it took some effort to use the thumb hole, and more energy than required to flick it open with the compression lock (wouldn't even flick close). Not to mention the blade out of the box already had a "mark" on it. I took time to clean it with hot water (opened it under the water a few times) and dried it with a cloth, still feels the same. I did buy this for a collector piece because I already love my PM2 that I own... However, if Spyderco is going to continue to make Sprint Runs of their products... Than they should really be the best that the product can be, it should be a showcase. This product feels more like a cash grab than a cream of the crop PM2. Fortunately these pieces will appreciate in value due to the limited number and I can make back my purchase price no problem. Again, love my PM2 that I already carry daily. But this review is based on the knife I received, which is why I cannot give it more than 3 stars because the one I already own was better out of the box (and is a regular mass production piece). To sum up, great aesthetics on a great platform but at the end of the day... it is still a PM2 and should perform like one (if not better because it is limited edition).
Worth it!

Ordered Tuesday, arrived Thursday. Absolutely perfect. From the blade centering to the edge grind, them folks there in Golden really outdone themselves this time! That Jade-colored G-10 is a perfect contrast to the black hardware & Black DLC Coating on the blade. I’d swear it glows in the dark! How’s the edge you ask? Wicked sharp! Fillet’d some paper effortlessly. My 8th PM2 (definitely not the last) and maybe the best of them all! Big shout-out to Trey there at Blade HQ, glad I upgraded the shipping (thanks to him.) It’s a shame this run was over in just a few minutes maybe Spyderco could find it in their heart to have an unprecedented “2nd” Sprint Run on these (I can dream, right?). Another Home Run from Blade HQ!
Third jade g10 m4 knife—not surprised and not disappointed

It’s the same pm2–what did you guys expect from this review? It’s just as good as the original, but arguably better if you like faster rusting blades. BUT WAIT THERE’S DLC so no it won’t be rusting unless you’re lazy. The steel is cool—all you junkies know CPM M4 is ready to go so go out and buy one... wait you can’t anymore...
