The Roadie was conceived to comply with the TSA's 2013 plan to allow qualified knives on planes. Although the plan was withdrawn by the TSA, Spyderco is ready for the day when knives and planes can coexist.
Spyderco's Roadie is essentially an evolved version of a penknife for the modern man. It has a practical sheepsfoot style blade with a trademarked Double Dent opener for fingernail-free two-handed opening. The handle is contoured fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a notched-joint mechanism. An index-finger choil on the blade aids to prevent accidental closure and facilitates precision cuts.
Available in a handful of different colors, the Spyderco Roadie is a friendly, high-utility knife for the modern age!
Sal hit it right on the nose with this sheep foot design in slip joint configuration. Small and disappears in the pocket, great service from Blade HQ as usual. Thanks guys!
If you're like me, you began to drool when you first laid eyes on the Benchmade Proper, but were also hesitant to drop $115 on one, despite the quality... This little Roadie will fill that void. Arguably, a more well designed slip-joint. Great index choil/jimping, stays firmly open and closed, "Double Dent" is superior to any nail knick opening system... Also, unlike the picture, the black handle model does have a lanyard hole.
Was wanting a slip-joint style knife for work, and this thing is awesome. Great ergonomics for such a small knife and disappears in the pocket! Only thing keeping it from a 5 star knife is the blade's edge isn't ground the same on both sides. Impacts the way it cuts a bit, but for what the knife is made for it doesn't really matter. Just a little nitpick of mine. LOVE the knife otherwise!
tiny tiny knife, more a sharpened fingernail then anything. only three stars cause its so small id be afraid to use it for much lest it fall and get lost.
