This 2015 Spyderco Sprint Run Squeak folder features a premium Elmax steel blade and satin finished titanium handle scales! Produced in Maniago, the Squeak SLIPIT is a Spyderco non-locking one-hand open, clip carry folder called a SLIPIT. It’s designed for legally-restricted carry in locales where locking folders are prohibited.

The Squeak’s blade is held in the open position when cutting by a notched-joint at the knife’s pivot. When closing the blade, the notch generates resistance functionally similar to traditional slip-joint penknife and performs the additional function of smoothing the motion of the blade opening. Increasing control and comfort Spyderco designers add a deep finger choil, naturally jogging the index finger into a position on the underside of the blade directly below the thumb. Positioning the index finger in this choil blocks the blade from accidental closing when cutting and provides a grip position that allows the user to choke-up closer to the cutting edge for greater dexterity.

The sharpest knife I own.

Very small. Great for opening boxes, slicing grapes (for babies) and kiwi 🥝 and other small things. This is by far the sharpest knife I’ve come across. Elmax is where it’s at. This knife is where it’s at.

I really, REALLY like this knife. Before I had it, I thought little knives were silly. I liked 3"+ blades. Just in case I got lost in the woods and needed to carve a shelter. (but I live in NYC)

What originally appealed to me was the slip joint and the size. I felt like instead of buying more of the same; I'd like something different. Since I travel (both domestic and to Europe) I wanted something that had function beyond a pen knife but was legal.
What I got was much more.

I've come to realize that most of the time this is all the knife I need. While I wouldn't say this is a "defensive" knife, I haven't needed a defensive knife in the 20 years I've carried one. (that being said; it's BEYOND razor sharp and one slice would adjust anyone's point of view.

Also, the finger choil would prevent closing on the finger in all but the most intense combat situations. But I digress, what's great about this knife is that it truly disappears in your pocket. (or sweatpants, or underwear)

The ELMAX steel is the most resilient steel I've ever encountered and it holds an edge like nobody's business. Beyond that, I think the titanium with the steel upgrade makes this a heirloom piece.
I think for anyone who needs a basic EDC blade this fits the bill. It's small enough to be discreet but still great for cutting, slicing open things and other EDC functions. It makes the PERFECT back up knife, especially for those who carry a larger or fixed blade.

A few other notes:
This is a very polished piece and shows every scratch; I don't care. When it came out the box it was so precisely machined that the edges of the top of the blade and the inside of the handle felt sharp and almost abrasive but that seems to be wearing off.

While some may be apprehensive to purchase it due to the price, I'd say to get the entry level model; this is truly a knife that you are overlooking and don't know how much versatility it can add to your lineup.
