This Tasman Salt 2 knife has a black FRN handle and a rustproof H-1 steel blade with a plain cutting edge.

The Spyderco Tasman Salt 2 features the focused cutting power of the original Tasman Salt hawkbill blade style, and pairs it with an improved handle design based on the best-selling Delica 4. Injection molded from tough FRN, the handle offers improved ergonomics, non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing, a solid lock back mechanism, and a handy four-position titanium pocket clip.

Only one flaw: not serrated
Daniel J.
All the great ergos and quality of the Delica, with a hawkbill blade for rope, pruning, or other work with round fibrous material.

For a plain-edge blade, H1 is OK, but not great. The shape of this hawkbill blade is easy enough to sharpen, but the advantages serrated blades have (reducing impact/blunting wear on the actual cutting edge, good penetration of tough material with the points) are magnified significantly in tasks that a hawkbill is good at. On top of that, the serration grinding Spyderco does actually makes H1 harder than it is on a plain edge. (They don't know why, but it's true.)
