The TOPS Lite Trekker is the design of Leo Espinoza and Joe (Shangoman) Flowers. It strikes a balance of being both strong and light while being effective for the tasks it's designed for. The Lite Trekker is an excellent choice for adventurers that count weight in ounces. This model has a tan model.
The 1095 blade steel is heat treated to 56-58 RC and is flat ground to the top edge for the sharpest and lightest combination in its size class. It features a special "bare steel" patch on the spine to be used as a striker for use with fire steel. The Lite Trekker features machined recesses set into the handle.
This tool includes a Kydex sheath with spring clip along with a 3 rod fire-starter and 126 DB emergency whistle.
Fast delivery from BladeHQ! Just got this knife. I like it so far. Good blade shape. Handle works for me, though "tan" looks more brown to me (still looks nice). My knife doesn't have the "bare patch" for use with the firesteel. Edge is usable but needs some TLC. Warning; sheath is RH only, can't swap the belt clip around for lefties. Score based on initial handling, not field use.
