The Tops C.U.T offers a versatile design that functions as a combat fixed blade and a utility knife. Designer Joshua Swanagon is a fan of tactical ring style combat knives, but as an avid outdoorsman he appreciated the simplicity of a good utility knife. The Combat Utility Tool provides the best of both worlds, offering tactical and EDC applications.Features
Great knife , edge came sharp and point is like a needle. Just a mean hunk of medal. The sheath is nice, kydex with leather straps. The straps can be taken off and adjusted for a tighter fit need be. My large hand can grip it with just enough room. Dragon fly micarta gives a secure grip. This is my first Tops Knife and I am in Love! Also thier coating is the best I have ever seen or felt, all around an amazing knife.
I don't just give out 5/5's. I feel like too many people do that to be nice. Scrutinize the product people.. you paid for it! Anyway, TOPS is doing big stuff; if the overall heft of their knives didn't give that away! This is great for literally everything, maybe except for aquatic use. I've used this camping, self defense carry, food work to include eating out (hate the crappy knives you are given to eat with), and more. Additionally, I'm an active duty mil member. Duty related use, this thing deserves a solid 5/5! I own 2. Buy this knife.. seriously. Right now, why are you waiting..?
Incredible ergos. And keep in mind this is not a small piece, but fits better in abdomen carry than others much smaller. Once you hem up the iwb loops for your belt size, this thing isn't going anywhere. Really impressed with the entire offering. Fit/ finish, ergos, kydex fit, iwb configuration... and especially price point. If you like a fixed blade for EDC, do yourself a favor. I haven't been this impressed in a while. Well done, Tops... and Swanagon... best collab I've seen in a long time.
This knife has been with me across 4 continents, countless hikes, and wherever legal, it has been my EDC fixed blade for 4 years now. What more can I say beyond what's already been said by the others? Fantastic design, easy to deploy in multiple configurations, and high level of quality in production by TOPS. The stock sheath is also quite good and lasted 3 years. It could have lasted more if I hadn't done a poor job of using a heat gun to adjust the traction. Great job by Josh Swanagon and TOPS. This is one of the first things that I pick up when I step out (sometimes even before my cellphone!) Highly recommended, 5 stars.
Heavier that it looks but not bad. Conceals very well. Stupid sharp. Coating is heavy duty for sure. Micarta feels great. Only con: Retention on kydex sheath leaves something to be desired.
Wonderful knife, well made. Grip locks your hand in and is comfortable in use. Kydex sheath is good and configured for scout carry, but easily changed.
this is one of my favorite knives to carry. It was my first in the 1095 carbon category, and I liked the steel so much I have bought many more. I like the size of the finger hole for forward or reverse grip. would highly recommend.
I have carried this knife now for over 2 years. It sits on my belt above my butt every day. I never notice it’s there during long car rides, but have it ready in the quickest draw out of all my knives. I use it for everything from envelopes to splitting kindling. This is the most handy knife I will ever own. If you want a great fixed blade carry this is the knife.
I have owned this knife for 2 years now and man is it going to keep on ticking. I actually had this as my EDC for a bit since it is on the smaller side of fixed blades. The coating on mine has yet to come off after I had stabbed it into ammo cans and dug some small holes with it. The edge is toothy on mine and had kept the factory edge for a good couple of months before I needed to give it a nice strop. This knife could take a beating and is still holding up to this day. The only problem I had with this knife is the sheath. The screw to one of the straps broke but that was not until a couple of months ago. It is a strong sheath and it has not broken on me, just loosened on me after I left it in a car in the summer. However, that is an easy fix or I may just buy a custom one. Overall, this is a solid knife that can take on your hard use tasks.
Having trained in Karambit style blades I love the grip on this knife (I wear XL gloves) and appreciate the functionality of the straight blade versus a traditional curved blade. I got Doug Marcaida's Fox DART because of it's straight blade. I do own several traditional fixed and folding karambits but straight, while not being as lethal for slashing as the tiger's claw, is ultimately more versatile. I gave it four stars because of the sheath. Don't get me wrong, it is solid but, as it comes it only supports scout or horizontal carry. I prefer traditional vertical carry at the 2:00 position which allows it to be drawn with either hand. Going to have to figure that out. Overall, if you're on the fence with purchasing, it is a good solid, high quality knife. You will not regret your decision!
