BEAR OPS BOLD ACTION III
FLOYD W. on Aug 18, 2017

Having owned Bear & Sons knives for decades I was excited to get an auto folder by them. I was pleased with the strong action & tight lockup. After I cut a piece of cardboard 8' X 8" it lost the keen factory edge. I put it on my ceramic stick for a few strops & was having difficulty in getting a fine edge. After a little bit I noticed that the lockup was failing. There was a little sideways play but an unacceptable amount of forward play. I could not get it shaving sharp but it did not "Roll over" as poorly tempered blades do. It is a nice looking stiletto but the plunge lock is weak & loosens up with very little use & a little sharpening. I would not recommend purchasing this knife as it commands nearly a $100 price tag but seems on par with the $29 Chinese Autos as far as quality.
