I heard great things about the company but this knife disappointed me, even for the low price. The finish on the blade had bubbles on it and the latch was too long and didn't keep the knife closed. The knife is sharp but I haven't seen if it holds an edge yet. The knife came in a much larger box, lose and wasn't even in the plastic sleeve. Won't be buying from Bear and Son again.
Okay knife for the price

As far as balisongs go, you won't find a much better knife at this price point that is readily accessible unless it's a really beaten up Bradley Kimura that's fallen apart and been repaired or made by an amature knife maker etc. All Bear and Son models 114 and 115 will be almost identical and all are okay for the $30-50 price point.

All this said, the knife came very tight and took a couple days of casual flipping to loosen up. Blade came relatively dull and after using it for a short period of time, doesn't even actually break skin when flipped. Flipping is actually surprisingly good for the price point. The T-latch is a nightmare and gets caught in between the handles and blade constantly, and as it is riveted in will be slightly annoying to remove. As always, BladeHQ was wonderful to order from.
Love it

I love it, I bought this for my birthday and I love how it feels when flipping. Also it has a really satisfying sound when the handle touch. 3 problems is that near the pivots there is a yellow stain but super small and hardly noticable. And it wasnt oiled enough to flip properly. And the latch kinda gets in the way. Other wise really good butterfly knife
