Nice Blade
Miguel P. on Dec 1, 2019

This is actually a really nice blade, had it for 2 years and counting! Great quality and price. I would pick up again.

Awesome knife you can actually use.
adam l. on Oct 25, 2018

I have had this knife for almost a year. It flips well, easy to put an edge back on, holds up to daily abuse learning new tricks, and has a great balance. The coating on the blade holds up super well. No issues with the pins holding the blade. Latch is loose, but I cannot tell you how many hours I have twirled, flipped, and dropped this knife. Great buy.

Excellent beginner balisong
JOHN M. on Jul 8, 2022

The balisong is great for beginners and it is great for the money. The only few downsides are there is not a pocket clip nor is there a place to put one the other downside is that the latch isn't a spring latch and is kinda loose when in the latched position. Other than that it's a great knife and I definitely recommend it.

Great Knife For Beginner Flippers
Erik H. on Jul 1, 2021

I bought this knife to learn how to flip butterfly knives. I can't recommend it enough for that, it comes out of the box pretty dull which is okay because if you're like me and starting out, you might close it on yourself a few times. I've done so myself and have barely scratched myself with it. After enough experience you can sharpen the knife yourself and it will preform great. I had this knife for a very long time and unfortunately one of the bearings on the handles broke so it no longer works. Hence the reason for the 4 star review. However the knife was very sturdy and had a great weight to it. Highly recommend it.

Fun Knife
justin b. on Jan 5, 2018

If you want a butterfly knife you can flip, and not be afraid to actually USE, this is a good purchase. I picked this up with the intention of keeping my fingers busy at work, but also be able to open up packages when needed. It does both very well!

Awesome knife! Some minor flaws
Alexander P. on Jun 8, 2017

I got this as a present and I love it. The only problem I've had the latch getting in the way occasionally. There were a few quality issues when I received it such as one side at the tip of the blade was not finished properly and the pivot point on safe handle was a little stiff at first. Otherwise great feel and sound.

Great Knife!! Slight quality problems.
Rick B. on Mar 18, 2017

This a great Knife. I love it. The look, the feel, the finish. It's wonderful. That being said there are some slight quality issues. When I received the knife I noticed some uneven parts on the blade itself. Under closer inspection I found that the blade itself has a slight bend to the right, now this has no effect on the opening, and closing of the knife. Just something to point out. Honestly, even with its slight flaw this is a great Knife. Would recommend.

Cheap

The pressed pins will not hold up very long I would recommend getting one where you manually tighten the screws.

Poor Construction and Materials
Liam R. on Feb 1, 2019

I bought this knife trying to dip my feet into balisongs. I was excited from the pictures and reviews for a decently priced one, but when it came I was shocked. My $40 knife looked like a middle schooler had spray-painted the "unified aesthetic" on, and the pins came loose after learning a double roll out. Perfect timing at least. If you're looking for a knife in the beginner range that isn't gonna fall apart TOO quick, my brief google searches tell me the bear songs 2 and 4 are pretty much the only way to go, and as an owner of a 4, I agree. As long as you open this knife carefully with both hands, the knife will never deteriorate.. but then what's the point? Otherwise pay 20 bucks for another one that looks just like this, it'll be similar quality. In spite of quality control issues, Bear & Sons has outstanding customer service, and fills an sensible, economical niche in this small market.
