Description:
The Boker Mini Kalashnikov fills all the roles of its larger counterpart, but in a more lightweight, compact package that is ideal for people with smaller hands. The quality materials and quality build promise a knife that wont let you down.
In 1947, Mikhail Kalashnikov completed development of a rifle designed to arm millions of Soviet soldiers. It is now known as the AK-47 and remains in active use to this day, being the most manufactured rifle in history. It is so loved because it gets the job done, is very economical, and keeps ticking, no matter what you throw at it. The Boker Kalashnikov knife is inspired by the iconic weapon, with a simple design, no frills, and maximum functionality. The Kalashnikov is made of high-performance, high-value materials. It has a strong lock, dependable action, and a handle that just wants to go to work. The Kalashnikov truly is a knife that makes its namesake proud!
Boker Kalashnikov Knives come in many sizes, a variety of blade shapes, and tons of colors! These knives also come in AUS-8 steel for a price you can't beat!
*Automatic conversion knives are retrofitted by a third party to accept a coil spring. The factory warranty on these knives is void, but we do have a warranty for the conversion/spring of these knives for one (1) year from date of purchase.
Cool knife, especially for the price. Love showing it to people. Very usable and for forty bucks you don't worry about scratching it up.
This is a fantastic little automatic knife. Super snappy and just plain fun to deploy. Feels great in the hand and is easy to grip and use. Might be a little small for those with large hands, but for my hands, it's perfect. The Desert Warrior colorway is excellent, with the copper color of the blade being incredible in the sunlight.
This knife is just a great little tool and workhorse!! I fell in love with it when I saw the Knife Banter on Kalashnikovs! Great value for an automatic!
mini kalashnikov, what else can I say!
great knife. the size is very comparable to my launch 4 only this has a longer blade. fits awesome in the spare change pocket on my jeans.
I wear lightweight slacks in the Texas summer heat and my other daily carry knives are too heavy for the pocket fabric. This little auto is the right size and weight for dress pants.
Very impressed with the quality of this little knife. beautiful finish. the action is fast and the lockup is very tight. its so light I forget its in my pocket. The blade could be a bit sharper from the factory but that could be easily remedied.
Its a great knife. Very Sharp and the automatic opening is fast. Just plain awesome and will be ordering the larger version very soon.
I concur with all the good things mentioned in the reviews, as I feel this knife is very well built for the money. I fell in love with the colors first off, then realized it was a mini-automatic, and I had to own one! The clip if very useful and well shaped. Everyone should always carry a knife of some kind all your waking hours, but I don't unless I'm leaving the house. And carrying this little guy makes me want to carry especially when I cannot carry a larger knife. The guarantee is good and it opens with authority and dependably. Thanks, HQ!
Came in a cool box shaped like the magazine of a Kalashnikov. Snappy little knife and sharp out of box! A little small for my hands but it is the mini so that is expected.
Great knife I have purchased several of these over the years in full size version and have given all of them away. Bought two of these for my sons, they carry them every day. Great color combo, snappy action and great deep carry clip
Love it ! Great little knife at an amazing price... It's my new everyday pocketknife.
I have large hands and found the mini to be a little small for me. It operates flawlessly and the fitment and finish is very good. I think for the price you cant really loose. I gave it five stars because for the money you aren't going to find a better automatic knife. My knife was very sharp out of the box with a good edge. I noticed several people's reviews that they were dull out of the box. Hopefully they fixed this.
I love the size of this knife for office EDC, I own a full sized variant as well but this one due to its handy size sees considerably more use, very well executed design, have had no issues with knife in any way. I would like to note that after three months of daily use the blade has no scuffs or marks but the pocket clip does show wear as does the bottom of the knife that’s exposed out of the pocket
This really, really is a great knife in almost every aspect. the price is great, the action is snappy, and it is very comfortable, even with my large hands. Was worth every penny.
Pros: super snappy, easy to sharpen, vertical lock up is pretty much perfect, action is fun and reliable, super tiny and light so it disappears in your pocket, decent steel, desert warrior pattern looks great, super deep carry clip, it’s a bargain for the price Fidget factor is very high. I’ve opened and closed this thing so many times the spring came out Cons: you need to realize how small this knife is (it surprised me but it is easy to get used to), ergonomics are good but since they just shrunk the knife the finger choils don’t exactly line up, and horizontal lock up is a bit wiggly, out of the box it is not super sharp And the spring in the knife can slip out of place and is hard to fix Overall: I would give it a 9/10 would definitely recommend
First Boker and first auto. Action is snappy, but not so hard it’ll fly out of your hands. The mini is a great size if you prefer a smaller sized EDC. The coating on the aluminum handles feels good in hand and has a little more traction compared to normal anodized aluminum handles. Pocket clip allows very deep carry but does have a little side to side play due to the design. Blade edge wasn’t the sharpest on arrival, but good enough for most tasks. Highly recommend this knife and will be soon ordering the full size version.
Just got my knife today and I am very pleased! This knife is going to be my new EDC. First thing I noticed was the high quality and ease of operation. Add in the low cost and it's a no brainer! Very fun knife and joy to have!
A solid auto for under $40? Can’t go wrong with that. Decent blade material for price, any of these that are colored blade will scratch up with use.
Nice little knife, the auto-deployment works perfect. The color scheme is very nice!
Have bought several of these, and this one was no different, but of blade creep, easy fix. Action is fast, good lockup, AUS8, and an auto for $30, is a solid deal. Order fulfillment and shipping were fast, Thanks BHQ.
I was skeptical but this knife proved me wrong. Great fit and finish. No play. Quality automatic knife for budget minded. Release was a little hesitant at first but after just a few minutes of working it in it's now perfect.
I love this little knife! It's action is very snappy. It took me by surprise. The value of knife you get is incredible for the price point. The pivot screw even has intricate lettering and a nice design. Exceptional knife, I highly recommend buying it.
Just got this mini Boker what a great little knife. Action is crisp, great lock up. I like this mini more than the full size Boker. Great for my purse or backpack.
Good crisp action. Sharp out of the box. Small in the hand but that is why they call it a mini. Very impressed with the amount of value this knife has.
Unfortunately, I was sent a knife with paint already worn off, the seal was broken on the AK magazine-style box. I didn't think anything of it until a day later when I was looking at the pocket clip and saw the black paint was scratched off. As someone who has built up their collection through BHQ, with some 40+ orders over the years, I'm quite disappointed, this is my first negative review. I'll be following up via email to have this remedied, hopefully. UPDATE: BladeHQ staff were quick to remedy the mistake with compensation. I appreciate the good customer service, I will continue to shop at BHQ. I have updated it to 4 stars, as the button on mine is a little crunchy, but I'm sure it'll break in.
A fine little auto knife. For such a reasonably priced blade it has a good opening action and is quite comfortable in the hand. Only negative. Blade definitely needed a touchup in the sharpness department.
Great little knife, nice fast action compact but yet very comfortable and useful love the deep carry clip nice and light and fairly thin just a fun little knife it needed a little edge refining out of the box but no complaints
with all the options (and 3 new blade styles!) they really make you wanna collect them all, for their they really make you wanna buy more and more. Got a small one and i kinda want a large one now . . i love this color combo and knew i didn't have a lot of colorful knives, best decision, it is the best. THE ACTION is pretty amazing, it like others are a simple push-button release, so it is as the expensive knives are functionality-wise, the material is the only thing that holds it back, cast aluminum is pretty cool though, and durable! I have the paint starting to come off mine and it's looking cool, it is definitely a fun knife to fondle, only wish I had another one, but a further diversification of my collection should happen before buying another one. honestly, if you are thinking about it, the price is pretty fine, I got mine on sale and that was all it needed for me, but if you don't have one of these you have to get one, no question about it. p.s. it still is so snappy, i love it.
When it says "Mini," it means it. This knife is small! I really like that aspect of it, though. It is super light, yet opens with authority and is super satisfying! The desert warrior color scheme look amazing as well! The only drawback is the sharpness, but other than that, this is a quality little knife!
This is a really fun knife to play with. My very first auto. Love the action, the steel is just not the greatest as AUS8. Still useful though. I like it!!!!
great auto for the price even though it is aus8. its a budget knife and im cool with that.its not my main carry but fits in the 5th pocket and I use when I don't want to ruin my edge on the para 2 or 940. feel like I could own a dozen of these just as fun peices
Smaller than expected but great if you have limited pocket space. Finish on the blade has held up to edc for last 6 months but the paint on the aluminum grip is pretty warn from my pocket. Button gets lint in it making it hard to open sometimes. But would buy again
Purchased this for my wife who loves it. The release button is not the smoothest and the steel is the of average quality. At this price point you're getting a fantastic knife in my opinion.
Bought this for my stepdad, and was shocked by how snappy the action was. It is a little thick, with a sub par steel, but still very fun.
The color scheme on this knife is very unique and looks great in person. The copper dagger blade with the OD green handle compliment each other very well. The deployment is snappy and strong which is nice. The deep carry pocket clip sits really nicely in the pocket, you barely notice it's there. The pivot screw also has a nice design. There are only two things that bother me about this knife though. First being the size, which is more of a personal preference, but it's a lot smaller than I expected. Although, it's still comfortable in the hand thanks to the finger grooves. Second being the odd jimping on the pocket clip side. When reaching into the pocket to grab the knife, your fingers will graze those jimps and is not very comfortable. All in all, for the price and unique look, it is worth the buy.
It's a pretty good knife but mine came incredibly dull. And I can't even seem to get a good edge on it.
I have the launch 4 and love it so I thought I would like the mini over the regular size so I ordered both and found that I like the regular over the mini. The mini have a better kick it doesn't sit in hand as well. I think this is due to the cut outs for the fingers. It forces you hand placement more than I like.
When I first got my Kalashnikov, i was really exited. It is very snappy, and the ergonomics are great. After opening the knife a lot I noticed a substantial amount of blade play. Also the AUS-8 steel is not very good, this knife needs to be in at least D2 Steel. If you want a knife to have fun with, this one will work. If you want a knife you will use and work hard, you should look into something else.
I like this knife alot. Feels good in the hand, good clean fast opening. Looks good, But it was not very sharp out of the box!! I'm kinda disappointed with that. But it's a keeper.
This knife works great an and has a good solid lockup but the problem is it is dull out of the box and when I went to sharpen it I noticed the blade near the ricasso was not ground at the same angle as the rest of the blade which necessitated a lot of work with a course stone to reprofile the edge to get it sharp along the whole length of the blade. This may be due to the spear shaped blade and I would be curious if the clip point has the same issue.
Just got today and when opening the button grinds some before it opens. Not the smooth action I was hoping for. Blade was sharp but not as sharp as others I got from Blade HQ. Maybe because it’s new it will get better but first impressions was not so great
Bought two 3 months ago. The scale finish is coming off. Looks like CHEAP CHINA crap. If you send to Boker they destroy all autos per their website. Don't waste your money!
