This Blade HQ Exclusive Elementum gets an upgrade to premium CPM-S35VN blade with a black stonewash finish and natural G-10 scales over black stainless steel liners. The blade stock is a little bit thinner, making this knife a legendary slicer!Features:
Elementum. The word invokes a sense of the inevitability of nature—the consistent tides, tearing winds, or devouring fire; there is a certain balance that exists in nature. The CIVIVI Elementum is awesome in its own right, and succeeds in establishing a natural balance. Its elements come condensed, landing between too big and too small, high quality and affordability, plain and extravagant. The resulting knife is modest, ergonomic, and functional. Treat your pocket to one of the knife world's finest!
Love the action, love the S35VN blade, and I love the jade G10 with black finish blade and hardware. For the price.... can't do much better than that. Pocket clip is great, and it's very light weight. The liner lock is easily reached without pinching your finger. Ergonomics - not the best, but also not real complaints here. The gimping on the top of the blade stock is good. all around love it, no regrets whatsoever.
Elementums are the perfect "gift" knife for ambassadors to spread the joy around. And what better way than this beauty. Pros: All the great things you have come to expect from the Elementum, but an even sharper and more beautiful contrast of colors, better blade steel to complement that wonderful hollow grind. Cons: Seemed to be pretty limited in production numbers - but hopefully there will truly be more next round. Overall: Not much to add but this knife is both functional, artful, and a nice tool in the hand. I do like the blackened coating against the jade green G10.
Excellent knife at an great price.
I'd call this knife just right in almost every category. Despite being a hair under 7" it feels like a full size EDC in the hand. Between the light spine jimping, the G10, and the handle shape being rounded out by the flipper, it is rock solid in the hand. It is VERY light, but it locks up tight and the construction feels solid to me. The flipper tab is virtually perfect, and for having no assist of any kind, the action is BUTTERY smooth. Even people with no interest in knives end up flipping it mindlessly when I lend it out because it's such a pleasant action. The blade is centered and straight, and the steel is really excellent for the price. The grind is NOT QUITE symmetrical on the spine , but you really have to be looking to spot this and frankly this is one of those areas I'm happy to make a concession on cheap-but-good knife. If I had any complaints at all, it would be that the spine starts a bit thin at about 3/16", and together with the pronounced hollow grind this concerns a little that the blade could be a little brittle. So far the edge is still flawless and I've heard no reports of lack of durability, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on it during any harder use. I am thrilled with this knife for the price and will be recommending it to others.
This is my second elementum, the first one is the D2 with gray scale. It is such a great little knife that i want to get a second one in jade green/black s35vn. As always, great customer service and delivery from bladehq. The knife’s centering is a tiny bit off (that’s just me being ocd on pocket knives) but it is an easy adjustment. Thank you for putting it on sale.
For the price and the steel, how are these in stock still??? Love this knife! Thx BladeHQ
This knife comes sharp right out of the box, with a black blade and an almost transparent, grayish handle, it looks like a phantom. I love it! Good materials at a reasonable price.
This knife is so lightweight, it's ridiculous. I feel naked while I'm carrying it because I forget it's there. (I've carried a heavy OKC RAT 1 for years) The liners are milled out and the blade is nice and thin (I hear thinner than the d2 versions, but I don't have one of those). It shreds through paper like a dream and shaves super well right out of the box. The black acid wash contrasted with the natural G-10 is nothing short of stunning and makes me smile every time I look at it. Action is great and has decent fidget factor despite only having one deployment method.
I can believe how sharp this s35vn Elementum comes out of the box. The cutting edge width is the perfect every day carry, if you add to the pro's the deep carry pockect clip it comes with, it absolutely gets lost in your pocket ready for when you need to slice or cut open the next thing you need. I like the texture of the G10 handles and the black blade/combination with the jade handles, makes it appealing. If you dont have an elementum yet, get one, you will not regret it.
The action is so smooth. Coming from someone who owns spydercos and benchmades, this knife is very well made and well worth the dollar. No blade play open or closed. Well worth the money for sure!
This was a great buy for $80. The natural G-10 scales look great against the blacked-out hardware and blade. Fit and finish were great on mine - centering was perfect, action was smooth, and the flipper tab is at a good angle with sufficient gimping making it easy to action the blade. I really like the that the screws on the deep carry pocket clip are recessed into the scales so they don't grab onto your pocket, excellent design!
I have traditionally steered clear of Chinese-made steel, but I decided to give the Elementum in S35VN a try, because I wanted to try out S35VN and loved the look of the natural G10, the simple lines of the knife, and the deep-carry pocket clip. I couldn’t be happier with the value of this knife. My previous experience is with ZDP-189 and M390, and I have to say that I’m impressed with the edge retention of the S35VN blade after cutting a lot of cardboard and plastic packaging. I sharpened it for the first time, and found it easier to sharpen than my ZDP-189 spyderco endura, and I prefer the low profile way it sits in my pocket compared to my Maserin knife in M390. The knife seems to lock shut well with a solid detente, flicks open quickly and smoothly, and is generally as smooth as the more expensive knifes I’ve handled. I’m happy that I snatched up this knife as soon as I saw it.
This knife is sharp and lightweight that you don't notice it in your pocket. The blade is centered right out of the box. I added a green GITD back spacer on mine making my Elementum look unique. Great knife purchase from BladeHQ!
The second I saw an elementum in S35 I had to have it. Great flipper action, perfect size, great look, great steel(super sharp), deep carry pocket clip. Can't say anything bad about this knife and you probably won't find a better knife for the price. I have other Civivi's including other elementums and they are all top quality. Highly recommend.
Owning four (4) other Elementum this one ranks as my least favorite -- something about the liner lock is just off. It's awkwardly stiff and uncomfortable, as compared to my other Elementum, to fidget with. I'd select another model any day.
Good: Nice blade - good steel for the price, smooth action, lightweight in the pocket. But: Pocket clip snagged and snapped after 38 days of ownership. I guess this is something other people have experienced based on the quantity of aftermarket pocket clips available. Yes the knife is intact but come on WE.
