Description

Description

This Zancudo model is outfitted with a textured OD green polymer handle scale and a D2 blade steel upgrade in a black finish. Its compact, pocket friendly design features a proven blade shape, inspired by the Laser Strike fixed blade, and a durable black stainless steel frame lock handle. Includes a reversible pocket clip, allowing both tip-up and tip-down carry.

The Zancudo (spanish for mosquito) frame lock folding knife, like the Avispa, was designed and is fully endorsed by Mike Perrin and Jeff Randall of ESEE and Randall's Adventure & Training, aka RAT.

LOVE the blade, egos are "okay" at best

First off, the D2 drop point blade on this puppy is a workhorse.

Odd story: this knife plunge cut through a plywood-constructed suitcase with ease (the latch broke right before a hearing, the case would not open, and my exhibits were in there)! So, I can say this baby has definitely saved my bacon... and it stays shave-sharp for weeks and weeks of office tasks and outdoors activities.

That having been said, the jimping on the blade spine is more like a suggestion, the lock is incredibly difficult to disengage (insufficient relief on the scale and no texture on the lockbar), and the belt clip is an unnecessary wad of hotspot.

That's all enough for one star off... but the blade profile, grind, and material on this knife are a slam dunk for the other four. Recommended, with reservations.
Amazing budget blade

It's pretty slim and the blade is thin so it slices tremendously. The D2 steel for this prices is astounding. Great EDC on a budget.
