From designer Pensato Michele, aka Molletta, LionSteel presents the KUR folding knife. Not only visually flattering, the KUR offers its user generous comfort and control. The orange G-10 handle scales have a contoured surface with micro ridges. Underneath the scales a steel lock tab and a 6Al4V titanium backspacer provide a robust platform. The KUR has a Sleipner steel blade that's deployed using a flipper opener and rides on a ball-bearing pivot. It is a stylish everyday-friendly knife and includes a tip-up carry pocket clip.
My fave knife ever. Got stolen in a car crash... Had revelation 19:11-16 engraved on it. Knarly war. I miss you Kur. Will buy another orange one some day and 2 of olive woods one one black stone wash, one regular. Also has a magnet to hold blade in place so it doesn't open solo.
This knife ROCKS! Design and build are attractive and solid in the hand. Nothing to complain about. Love the steel selected and it comes plenty sharp. G10 is super grippy and the orange is a nice change. Lionsteel makes a great knife without question!
My daughter gave me this for Christmas and it has become my favorite knife to carry. I thought a knife over 5.5 ounces would not be pocket friendly but was completely wrong. The clip was a little stiff at first but retains the knife very well. As stated in the previous reviews, attention to detail is Lionsteel's true strength. I made over 300 cardboard cuts yesterday and never experienced hot spots or hand fatigue. The edge was still sharp enough for a working edge but I decided to run it through a Wicked Edge treatment. This is my first experience with Sleipner and it felt very hard when going through the low grits (100 -200). I knew this is a high wear resistance steel so with some patience and a little elbow grease it began to yield a very nice burr, I ran through all grits (100, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1600) and both 5 / 3.5 micron strops to attain a mirror polish and it came out nicely. I will be purchasing another KUR shortly.
I absolutely love this folder. The attention to detail on this is amazing. I am surprised this doesn't cost twice as much as its listed for. Blade centering is perfect. The detent is solid and closes with a firm click but its not hard to flip at all. The orange G-10 is really nice and the 3d machined texture really works. I have seen some reviews where the complaint is the KUR is too thick in the handle. I completely disagree as I found it extremely comfortable and the way the G-10 is machined it makes it feel slimmer than its specs. Its thickest point is the middle of the scales. Its perfect for me. The titanium back spacer is really nice and the blade spine is rounded. The attention to detail on this knife is just outstanding. If you are thinking of buying one just get it. You will be happy. Thanks to Blade HQ for providing another great blade.
This knife is 100% solid, fills the hand perfect (mans hand, ignore the name, medium gloves are small on me, some large are a little big but most times perfect fit us large). Attention to detail in every molecule, worth much more then 169$, free shipping arrived in 3 days, Friday ordered 4th of July weekend and got it MONDAY! I AM IMPRESSED, both BladeHQ and lionsteel have done spectacular!
