This model has a black handle and a dagger blade.
The Mikov Predator spring knife is a covet-worthy automatic knife that is made in the Czech Republic and features an elegant build. The Mikov series is well-regarded for their "ready to work" no nonsense design. Rivet construction. The knife is opened using the small lever near the top of the knife. The lever rests flush in the handle when not in use and acts as a safety when folded down.
The fit and finish is unbelievable, mikov has been around for probably hundreds of years and it really shows that they know what they're doing because this knife is beautiful the polished blade is beautiful the action is amazing with good tactile feedback and the handles feel amazing everything lines up perfectly. The only thing people might not like is the steel being a simple 420 but this knife isn't meant to be a performance powerhouse it's a piece of art and history.
Very solid, well made knife from the Czech Republic. No blade play at all, Strong snap and very sharp. High quality for the money. Very satisfied. I recommend Mikov knives! Thanks
I own many automatic knives from Chineses junk to Benchmade and Italian. I wanted to try Mikov just because it looked well made. It is! The fit and finish is exceptional. The blade lines up nicely in the handle and the strong spring propels the blade, (which has good weight to it) out of the bolsters very well. The lever hides nicely in the handle until called for, but everything works as smooth as glass. Closing is just as easy with no grittyness or metal on metal feel. Great knife for the money and shoud last a lifetime. Left handed opening is a chore, as one can't get any fingers under the captured lever as you can with your right hand. They do make a left handed version, but the one site I found was difficult to order from. I only wish Blade HQ had better communication with their customers. Once you pay for the knife you never hear from them again until it shows up in the mailbox one day. I really don't like that. No tracking number, no shipping date. Anyway, buy this knife it's a workhorse and a smooth beauty. Although mine was not as sharp as American blades it was the same as the Italians. Stay safe.
The leverlock can be hard to open with one hand but after a while you can get the hang of it. The blade came very sharp and has held its sharp edge for a long time. It is best used in a stabbing motion but still works very well for things like chopping, although not as well as it stabs. The sheath that came with it is well made and convenient. It looks very nice and one of my favorite knives in my collection. If you have 80$ and need a knife this is a purchase you wouldn't regret.
Everything but one thing is PERFECT about this knife. The build quality is tank like, the blade fires robustly and the knife just has a great feel. I love everything about the knife I received with one exception, it doesn't arrive sharpened. It is not "back of the blade" dull but is not sharp at all. One can change that of course quite quickly especially if lucky like me and one owns a Ken Onion knife sharpener but it can also be done the old fashioned way by stone and strop. Superb quality and worth a lot more than the asking price for what one receives. Thought I would update my review. I easily got a razor edge on the knife and the edge lasts as one would expect from the type of steel. I use this knife several times a week and its held up for quite a while. It is now mid June of 2021 and not a single problem. Love the knife. I did read the gentlemans review about the internals rusting. I haven't had the problem but I did start spritzing some spray on the internals and wiped off all excess. Have only done that twice but no problems were ever seen. Great knife....a TREMENDOUS knife for the price.
It's not a bad knife, just different than what I thought I would get. First, the knife came without any box, which was kind of strange.I also thought they came with a sheath based on photos and videos I saw online. But I am probably mistaken. This is one of those knives you get just because they are cool, not because you would actually use it as an EDC. In that regards, it is great. It functions well. I shaprened it to my liking and put a 15 degree bevel on it with a mirror finish so it looks pretty hardcore. I also sharpened the first 15% of the tip on the trailing side as that side is completely unsharpened. But be careful if you do this as you close the knife with that side and I was fooling around with it and forgot about that and closed it using my hand near the tip--ouch ! Overall, a good purchase and something different. I don't know what you would do with this knife if you planned on using it, though. Its probably illegal to carry concealed in most places and I wouldn't want to get caught with it.But its a good blade for a collection. It's fun to play with and the way it snaps open is pretty neat as it comes out strong. Also, in hindsight, if I were to purchase it again, I would get a more fancy handle material.I was debating the ABS or the horn, Should have got the horn. ABS isn't bad but the horn would probably fit better aesthetically with the mirror blade finish now that I see it in person.
Bought two of these from an authorized dealer while in Prague. Was in love with the locking mechanism and wanted to support the local companies. Knife did not last 6 months in a desk with no moisture. The internal steel mechanism rusted and broke without a single use. Contacted the company directly and was told the Safety Mechanism and Internal components are not guaranteed and to purchase a new knife or to do the repair myself. Love the mechanism, terrible customer service and materials. Would caution against buying. Have never had an experience like this with a knife before in all my years of collecting.
