Description

The SOG Twitch II is a sleek spring assisted knife that utilizes the SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.). This mechanism is activated using the built in kick/flipper or dual thumb studs. The pass-through lockbar securely locks the blade open. A safety slide on the spine either locks the blade closed or can double lock the blade open.

This Twitch II has hard anodized aluminum handles with a tip-up carry pocket clip. The AUS 8 stainless steel blade has a plain edge and a satin finish. This is an excellent everyday carry knife, best of all it won't break the bank.

Nice knife - Interesting design

First off, it's really a nice looking knife. The sating finish on the blade, and gray aluminum handle look very classy together. Not too heavy, but you can feel it in the pocket. And wicked sharp out of the box !
The locking mechanism and release are nicely knurled so you can find them pretty easily.

The flipper and thumb stud take time to figure out. The flipper is easily covered over by your hand, and the thumb stud is a hard flick on such a small knife. The only real issue I could complain about is the clip. It's not finger friendly, and it's really stiff. It is tip up, which is a plus.

I'd say as an EDC, you will need a few days carrying it to get used to the operation of this knife. I do like it, but wouldn't have purchased it if it hadn't been on sale.

Keep in mind this knife is under $50 so it wonít break the bank.
Plus:
I love the overall design and the blade is quite sharp. It opens with very little effort. When opened, there is positive lock-up. Pocket clip can be switched for lefties.
Minus:
When closed, the blade wonít stay centered - too much wiggle. The handle is too smooth. The keeper lock is an afterthought but it will keep the knife from opening by mistake. Itís a little heavy for itís size.
Cool knife, but NOT made in USA

This knife has some neat tech and a refined look, unlike SOG's usual war machines. It's light and easy to carry/use. It's made in Taiwan, not USA.

I love the assisted lockback flipper design, very unique and fun to play with. Works great as a light use every day knife and doesn't look out of place or overly aggressive for use in a public setting, which isn't something you can say about many assisted opening flipper designs. The lockup is not very tight and there is some blade wobble, but for its intended use it gets the job done. Another thing to note is the spring broke after several years of use, requiring me to send it back to the manufacturer for repairs. It is by no means a flimsy design, but it does not last forever.
Wonderful blade

This was the second knife I ever bought, about 8 years ago and its seen its fair share of hard use and its still going strong today. I will note though the spring is just now starting to lose strength as it won't fully open using the flipper, can still open fine with thumb studs. So if ya want a smaller spring assisted flipper that will last a long time I recommend the Sog twitch 2
Great knife

Walmart sells this knife but the blade is in 420hc , even still it holds a wicked edge easy to sharpen. the picture above is actually the exact size of the knife if anybody needed a reference.
