Schrade's Extreme Survival series of knives each feature tough black powder coated full-tang carbon steel construction with textured TPE rubber scales and include a heavy duty nylon sheath with a ferro rod and sharpening stone.
The SCHF36 has a no nonsense drop point blade that will power through any task.
Ok, so I ordered a KA-BAR short serrated combat knife. Received it and can see that it’s well made and made in the US which I love but I didn’t like how small it was but decided to keep it. THEN I bought the Schrade SCHF36 figured cheap knife and got good reviews. WOW WAS I SURPRISED! It was big and very substantial. Sharp as hell and came with extras. I know it’s not made in USA but WELL worth the money. Next, I might check out Ontario fixed blade. Blade HQ has been my go-to for every knife purchase over the last several years!
Got this one after much research from several sources including a Knife Banter episode. Just got back from a three day and she did everything I asked her to do. Great choice for a budget friendly camping/bushcraft knife that can handle whatever you put it through and then will sharpen back up easily. Thanks Blade HQ!
Got this knife as the fixed blade in for my bug out kit for the reason of it has a fire started and sharper, both of which have worked very well. I also use it for yard work and when I go hiking and it is very good for removing low hanging branches and the like. A problem is that the grip either seperates your index finger from the rest of you fingers or forces your middle finger out a bit when holding it. Also it has the little c shaped part of the bottom of the blade cut which annoys me because it serves no apparent purpose and removes cutting edge of the blade where I normally like to start my cuts.
This bad boy came sharp, I am not very outdoors-y, so it resides in the back of my car.
