If you like the Boker Magnum series then you'll love the Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops SW50 automatic knives. These knives feature great quality and action at a low price.
The SW50BT has a black finished 440 stainless steel tanto style blade with a plain edge. The black coated aluminum handle features grooves to increase grip and a tip-down stainless steel pocket clip for easy carry. The push button quickly deploys the blade and this version of the SW50 has a front mounted safety!
The craftsmanship on this one is lazy at best. I have two other blades like this, including the old SW50TS which to the best of my knowledge was ACTUALY made by S&W and imported from Taiwan, not "Taylor Brands LLC" outta China. Fit and finish are laughable. This thing is about 2mm thicker than the others and utilizes a plastic ring to make up the gap. The blade wiggles in place, both extended and folded. It looks and smells like it was finished by a 5 year old with an angle grinder and spray paint. My original had a smooth powder coat finish and is still solid as a rock. Weight on this thing (3.8oz) is about 3 to 4 tenths of an ounce less than my others. The spring action is a margin weaker than the others which I'm very disappointed in. The thing was filled with filings which clogged up the action. I took it down to parts, cleaned and re-lubed it. It's a major improvement... but now after reattaching the clip, 2 of 3 of the clip screws are stripped. You get what you pay for! 2 stars, but only after I put the time and effort into improving it as much as I could with what I have. Taylor Brands LLC is doing a major disservice to the S&W name.
