Spyderco's Dragonfly 2 is a second-generation knife that has undergone some stellar improvements thanks to the C.Q.I.-Constant Quality Improvement process employed by Spyderco. The Dragonfly2 maintains the same blade and handle geometry with leveraging points that make the Dragonfly cut and feel like a much larger knife.

This Dragonfly 2 features an H-1 stainless steel blade that will not rust! The blade is hollow ground with jimping at the choil and the spine for better control and feel. The handle uses Spyderco's patented Bi-Directional Texturing on the fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) and has a reversible tip-up wire clip for superb carry characteristics. The Back Lock steel frame ensures a tight lock with solid performance.

Perfect is as perfect does.

This is my flag bearer for ultra lightweight EDC.
Likes: Everything
Dislikes: Nothing
Nitpicks: I wish the pocket clip was a scoach closer to the pomel for a slightly deeper carry. Thats all I got...
Favorite use: Perfect pairing to a Cold Steel Espada.
Great knife
Beautiful design, fits awesome in the pocket. H1 is rather soft though which is why I give it 4 stars. Chips/rolls/dulls easily. If you donít mind doing a bit more sharpening itís a great choice though. Itís a small knife so donít expect a full hand grip. Iíd give the ergos a 7/10.
Great little carry

Purchased this as a campus carry and beach carry knife! Super light weight and compact with a surprisingly big blade for the size. No need to worry about sweat or salt water damaging the blade.. Great purchase!
Great small edc

Knife comes quite sharp ad you would expect. Very little blade play. Handle fits comfortably in the hand and pocket clip holds up well. If you are looking for a small EDC type knife this is a good choice.
Ugly Clip

Nice knife, but its the pocket clip looks like a paperclip, never got over that.
Great size, perfect for water activity's

This knife is a great thing to have any thing you go to the beach, it's a good knife for fishing and anything really
Not scary to non knife people

I sometimes carry this knife in my watch pocket of my jeans along with a larger knife in my front pocket when around strangers or knowing Iíll be in public and may have to use a knife. I also boat and fish, this knife spends a lot of time in wet environments and not a spot of rust. Using the finger choil I can get a full grip on the knife making it feel much larger than it is. Itís a great little knife that can perform most any EDC tasks. In dress clothes itís extremely discreet and easily concealed. I love this little guy.
Perfect for water adventures

My wife and I just got kayaks this last year and I was looking for a rust proof knife. I wanted a knife that was not bulky so I could easily access the knife while in the kayak, rustproof, and solid design. This was a perfect choice. I got this for my birthday and this was an amazing gift. It is nice and small, and fits in my pocket very nicely. I can access the knife while kayaking. I can just leave it in my pocket and not get worried that I have ruined the knife if I get soaked or tip over or something. The knife came out of the box wicked sharp. Seriously, Spyderco did an amazing job sharpening this knife at the factory. I have read that H1 steel does not hold an edge well, but that is the price you pay for asking for a rustproof knife. I love the Spydie hole in the blade, makes it really easy to open. The lockup is solid and I love the yellow handle.
Rinse & Go, pocket perfect

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt is the mouse that roared! Cuddles in your pocket, capable of dragon sized tasks. Very small, very light, almost non existent in pocket. The H1 blade is great for slicing, mostly used for food. Being it will not rust, it is a no fuss joy to wash with a scant shake to dry, and back in the pocket without worry of oiling or contaminating with dirty cloth.

Regarding "too small-too large" polemic; if the knife were larger one might wonder if it could be smaller, as is, hard to imagine smaller.
Too small

The quality is good but the knife is just really small.
Buyer Beware

Love the knife, and edge out of box was Spyderco standard. I always like to have a knife on me, so I bought this to take to the beach (because I refuse to take my pricy Benchmades within 5 miles of saltwater) and I figured I wouldn't have to worry about it rusting. Clipped it to the bathing suit pocket and went in the water. When I came out I checked it and the H in H1 had rusted over. I bought the knife specifically because I wouldn't have to worry about things like that. It completely defeats the purpose of the knife in my eyes. Also, the screw holding the pocket clip to the handle scale constantly comes loose. It's not an EDC knife for me anymore, it now just sits in my tacklebox.
Great knife

First off, the blade looks very cool. The swedge on top really makes it look cool as well as help it's piercing ability. Spyderco's wire clip is awesome. The knife doesn't move around in my pocket at all, the clip is very strong, and the knife weighs practically nothing. Comes hair-shaving sharp. I broke down boxes a lot with it, and I'll say that it loses its razor edge rather quickly, but it held a good working edge for a long time. Will still cut cardboard easily without resharpening. Overall it's an excellent knife and a must have. It's also nice to be able to rinse it with water, shake it off and not have to worry about any of it rusting.

I should also mention that even though this knife is small, you can get a full 4 finger kung fu grip on it, thanks to the generous finger choil. Tons of control while holding this knife.
Great Small Knife

This was my first Spyderco purchase and I am extremely pleased with it. I wanted a smaller knife to carry at work as I really didn't need to be pulling out a large blade in an office environment to open an envelope or a box.

The H1 steel wasn't a huge factor in my choosing this particular Dragonfly, however I am glad I got it. I never have to worry about exposure to water (and yes, this knife has survived a trip to the washing machine!).

The action was a little tight at first, however after opening and closing it hundreds of times, one-handed operation is easily accomplished.

If you are looking for a solid, smaller EDC knife, the Spyderco Dragonfly is a great choice!

I'm giving it a 5 because:

I live in front of the beach in Puerto Rico. When going to the beach I take this small pocket knife with me as the blade is completely rust proof, it has no internal liners that can rust and fits perfectly in my swimming trunks. It's lightweight and unobtrusive. When in town I carry a Slisz Bowie or a ZT 0450. Both have tougher and harder blades. But if I'm going fishing, boating, to the beach or river I'll take the dragonfly salt with H1 steel because it'll take the abuse. I've gutted fish, cut fishing lines, etc with it. Very easy to sharpen in Spyderco Sharpmaker. If you need a small rust proof, lightweight knife this one is great!.
