The Spyderco Police Model has a hollow-ground VG-10 blade that is thick at the tip for added strength with a weight-reducing swedge along the spine. The stainless steel handle is perfect for engraving or embossing. David Boye dent cut out of the locking lever allows you to gorilla grip the knife without accidentally releasing the lock. Steel clip positions the knife for tip-down pocket carry.

Time and again law enforcement officers have opted for the Police Model since its debut in 1984. Spyderco packs as much blade length as possible into the handle for big cutting power in a slim profile.

Real World Use
William F.
I've carried this knife on duty for 10+ years and used it in real world situations. I have found no equal. The Police knives are the thinnest, sharpest and most reliable knives I have found for duty use. They ride comfortably in any pocket and there is no stupid thumb knob or flipper to snag on anything. The thumbhole opening is the best and simplest opening method even with gloves. The smooth steel handle is great for fast access and slides right back into a pocket. Handle gets a little slick when wet but the handle is large enough to give a full hand grip so this is not a big concern. Yes the handle scratches easily but who cares, this is a tool.
I would recommend getting the 1/2 serrated model to give more cutting options. The steel handle model is a bit shorter and thinner than the plastic handle model and will be easier to carry and deploy.
