Description

Description

This Shaman model sports a black G-10 handle and a black DLC coated blade with a plain edge.

The Spyderco Shaman is a larger, more capable version of the iconic Native design theme. This model is built with a plain edge CPM-S30V stainless steel blade. A high saber grind and prominent swedge create excellent edge geometry and a fine-tuned point. Its handle sports ergonomic G-10 scales over skeletonized stainless steel liners to keep the Shaman lightweight and comfortable. Top it off with a high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and a four-position pocket clip, and you have one solid EDC folder.

Features:
  • Built with a Compression Lock for top-notch security during use.
  • Premium CPM-S30V steel provides excellent cutting performance.
  • Contoured G-10 scales offer a comfortable and secure grip while keeping carry weight minimal.

Great choice for a larger spyderco

I've had this knife for a little over a month now and use in my EDC rotation. I am pleased with it so far. I was initially worried that it was going to be a behemoth of a blade, but it's really not oversized. The weight is good and the jimping on the base of the blade really allows for good dexterity when precise cutting is needed. If you're looking for a larger spyderco knife, this one is definitely worth consideration.

At first I thought blade length and handle length would be gargantuan!! Haha thankfully it was not. My fiancée gifted me this beauty with an engraving of my name. My favorite knife. My Grail knife...for now lol

Love this knife. I've become a Spyderco fanboy over the last year and the Shaman is my favorite. Hopefully there are sprint runs with different handle/blade material.

I got my Shaman at Christmas, and after 2 months, its officially my #1 carry blade. It's always in my pocket waiting for its next assignment. It's not a small knife, but it fits amazingly in my hand(size large glove). Two months, and the S30V steel blade has yet to need resharpened. Flick open, drop closed. My first compression lock has me excited for my next compression lock. It's a really simple to operate mechanism. Get one, and you'll believe the hype is real. Its a work horse.

I don't like Spyderco designs, the Native changed my mind, and the Shaman might make a believer out of me. My personal particulars would involve adding a sharpening choil, thicker blade stock, and a deep carry pocket clip and I would be sold on it.

What do you get when you take the ergonomics and slicing power of the PM2, plus the beefyness of a manix 2... You get the Shaman, designed by Sal Glesser and taking roughly 4 to 5 years to develop... The Shaman is one hell of a knife, it is simple and straight to the point. Easy to disassemble (as Youtube has me to believe) and easy to maintain.

The edge and finish on this blade are superb, the dlc coating makes it look meaner than it already is. What makes it even better is despite the size of the blade, it really doesn't take that much pocket real estate. Not only that, but the grip is probably one of the smoothest (and grippy) handles I have ever had the pleasure of holding.

What are you waiting for, get a Shaman. You could wait for a sprint run, but we know that limited editions usually become Safe Queens. This knife is a true work horse and should be put to the test, it will not disappoint you.

Lastly, some find the finger choil cumbersome (As it can encroach on the compression lock release), but I would rather have that than have my finger slip off into this terminator blade.

PS - BladeHQ shipping was amazing, free and fast. It arrived earlier than expected!

I'm always surprised by how nice Spyderco knives are when they show up! This shaman is no exception. This will be replacing the pm2 I've been carrying. It feels more solid and takes up about the same amount of real estate in my pocket.
