The Dmitry Sinkevich designed ZT 0450CF knife is a compact version of the award-winning 0454 folder. It has an S35VN stainless steel blade with a black DLC finish. A flipper and the KVT ball-bearing pivot produce reliable, quick one-hand deployment. The titanium handle has a sturdy frame lock and a stylish carbon fiber scale that contrasts nicely with the black blade. A reversible tip-up carry pocket clip rounds out the package. Add a Sinkevich designed ZT 0450CF to your collection today!
Note: the video is of the now discontinued ZT 0450CFZDP-- the same model with different barrel spacers and steel. Other than that, specs are the same.
Customer Reviews
This will replace this knive's big bother as my EDC. Always nice to have choices, God bless the USA
Only issues are that the dlc coating on the clip, blade and lock side scale aren't great and the handle felt a little small for larger sized hands.
Other than those little gripes, the knife performs amazingly and I'd definitely would recommend picking one up.
Second, Love the ZT Line of Knives, own six!
The 0450 is built with high end materials and well built as are all ZT Knives.
The 0450 is not a good piece for a left handed person. When the clip is mounted for left hand tip up, your thumb falls naturally against the lock bar. This significantly impacts deployment.
The 0450 is very light and feels good in the hand once deployed. However it does not feel substantial. As a result it feels like an $80 Knife rather than $180 knife. An 0350 looks and feels like a lot more knife for less money.
When deploying the blade right handed it is very fast and locks up solid.
A little buyer remorse from a lefty 🙁
This is the smoothest flipping ZT I have, great little folder!
•super smooth action
•comes sharp enough to shave from the factory.
•really comfortable.
•nice to carry because its small and light.
Cons:
•may be a little too small
#1. If it was $280 its still sell
#2. As others have said This is a new 2016 Paramilitary 2 challenger.
#3. Buy it if you can find it they will be sold Out til Mid 2017 soon.
#4. Don't be shocked if it goes out of production and its $400 soon.
#5. Show me another $180 S35VN Carbon Fiber knife at this Price point ?
Blade steel, profile, and finish are all top notch. Titanium handle is likewise well built. The carbon fiber front scale is smooth, but with slight texturing- has to be felt to truly understand, but elegant and functional at the same time. No side-to-side or up-and-down blade play whatsoever. Locks up smooth, about 30% lock engagement- plenty of room to wear into. No slipping or disengagement of lock, even with spine strikes. Fasteners all tight, and thread locked. The detent is strong, but with the flipper and ball bearing pivot, the blade stays shut when you want it to, and deploys fast, and with authority. The force necessary to disengage the detent is sufficient to fully open the blade; try as I might, I couldn't manage to "short stroke" the opening- it snapped into place every time. Open handle, with green barrel standoffs, somewhere between lime and emerald green. A nice touch. Two-screw vertical pocket clip, tip up L/R only.
Only one thing stops it from being five stars: the blade is slightly off-center in the closed position. Not much, only a millimeter or so, but enough to be noticeable. Even with all fasteners loosened and carefully re-tightened, it's still there. the fit and finish is otherwise excellent, and it slight off center does affect operation whatsoever.
Would recommend this nice; an excellent EDC/dress knife, which will also work defensively in a pinch. Looks good, feels good, and works well. Personal preference, maybe a deep carry pocket clip would be a nice addition.
