Best folding knife I’ve owned
Luca P. on May 18, 2019

I spent about 2 weeks deciding whether to buy this Mini Grip or a full-size. In the end, I bought the Mini (obviously) and I love it. I have pretty long fingers but it fits perfectly into my hand. However, if you have thick fingers and/or aren’t very dexterous, you might want to look at the full-size Grip. Other than that, the blade came EXTREMELY sharp out of the box, lockup was sturdy, and blade centering continues to be spot-on. Quick to deploy (I can deploy this knife quicker than most assisted knives, actually) but not wiggly in any way. Yes, the scales are plastic, but they’re the same plastic they use on Glocks and I personally find it to be grippy, lightweight, and durable. However, if mold marks or plastic bother you, buy a G-10 model. The coated blade resists corrosion well and reduces glint off the knife when using it in the sun, as well as wearing well over time, giving it a kind of well-worn and broken-in look. Benchmade’s lifetime warranty is of course a plus but I doubt I’ll ever use it. Overall, the Mini Grip is a great knife for everyday carry, backpacking, and as a companion for pretty much any tool-related task. I’ve even seen things online about how members of the military have deployed with this knife and loved it. I expect this knife to last a lifetime.

I have never really owned any high end folders until I finally got tired of my cheap ones breaking and a close friend talked me into it. The hardest decision I had to make was whether to get the mini or full size grip. What I have found is that in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with either. I ended up buying the mini and it hasn’t skipped a beat. It has been in my pocket every day now for 3 months and I use it every day. It’s my pride and joy of knives and I always enjoy using it. If there’s any advice I can give it’s, stop over thinking it and buy it. It’s a steep price to swallow but it is well worth it when you get it in hand.

8 Years Strong
Josh R. on Jan 19, 2018

I am very fond of this knife both because it is a well designed EDC blade and also because it was my first benchmade purchase. At a little under three inches the blade is small enough to easily conceal but large enough for most everyday cutting tasks. The blade shape is awesome and unlike the full Grip the handle on the mini does not seem too wide. Because of this, the mini Grip does not take up much room in the pocket. The axis lock is also a very solid design that has never failed in my experience. All of this, in addition to the $106.00 price on Blade HQ gives you a great EDC knife that won't break the bank. My mini Grip is 8 years old and still has many years of use left.

Best Knife for EDC

I carry this knife with me every day. Fits perfectly in your pocket and has a great blade shape for all EDC tasks.

Nice knife but.....
Gary M. on Oct 14, 2019

First off, I like the knife overall. The axis lock is great. The fit and smoothness is great. The finish on mine could have been better. There were a couple of flashing nibs on the scales that really shouldn't be there on a knife at this price point. Knife was decently sharp when I received it but the grind was pretty rough. Again, I have seen better at a lower price point. Overall though I am happy with it.
