This Spyderco Delica 4 knife has a flat saber-ground VG-10 stainless steel blade that is satin finished with a fully serrated edge. The handle is black FRN.
The blade on the Delica is premium VG-10 stainless steel from Seki-City Japan and features spine jimping that extends from the ramp to the top of the handle. The Spyderco original thumb hole on the blade allows ambidextrous one-hand opening for right or left handers and the phosphor bronze washers at the pivot make the blade action smooth. The Delica has a lightweight FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle with skeletonized stainless steel liners and a strong back lock mechanism. The handle features screw construction for quick, simple cleaning and adjustment. The FRN scales utilize Spyderco's patented Bi-Directional Texturing to keep your hand from slipping under pressure. The pocket clip is 4-way reversible for tip-up/down and left/right carry.
The Delica is a smaller version of the Spyderco Endura knife. Both knives have been extremely popular over the years thanks to their lightweight, high performance build and affordable price.
...I bought it twice. Seriously, though, the fully serrated Spyderedge Delica 4 is a workhorse. It’s razor-sharp teeth make short work of just about everything. Great on cardboard (though, due to the saber grind it’s not as slicey as the FFG PE Delica) and perfect for emergency situations like cutting seatbelts or opening your beef jerky package. The trade off on the saber grind gifts you a thick strong tip, unlike the FFG models. I’ve also found that the slightly thicker blade stock reduces blade play. If you want something to slice apples, maybe look at a straight edge: if you want a pocket monster that eats EDC tasks and villains alike, while being light and thin in the pocket, put this Delica 4 Full Serrated edge at the top of your list. At this price, maybe you to will buy it twice.
Spyderco is my go to knife company, this blade cuts through anything and stays sharp for a very long time. The only thing i don't care for is the size, so i ordered the endura , which i had for 10 years plus but broke the tip and decided to try this delica . If you use your knife daliy you can't go wrong with one of these!!!
