Spyderco Delica 4 Knife Flat-Ground Gray FRN (2.88" Satin) C11FPGY

  • Satin-finished drop point blade made from VG10 steel.
  • Ambidextrous thumb hole opener.
  • Gray FRN handle scales.
  • Secure lockback mechanism.
  • Reversible pocket clip.

This Spyderco Delica 4 knife has a gray FRN handle and a full-flat ground VG-10 stainless steel blade that is satin finished with a plain cutting edge.

The blade on the Delica is premium VG-10 stainless steel from Seki-City Japan and features spine jimping that extends from the ramp to the top of the handle. The Spyderco original thumb hole on the blade allows ambidextrous one-hand opening for right or left handers and the phosphor bronze washers at the pivot make the blade action smooth. The Delica has a lightweight FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle with skeletonized stainless steel liners and a strong back lock mechanism. The handle features screw construction for quick, simple cleaning and adjustment. The FRN scales utilize Spyderco's patented Bi-Directional Texturing to keep your hand from slipping under pressure. The pocket clip is 4-way reversible for tip-up/down and left/right carry.

The Delica is a smaller version of the Spyderco Endura knife. Both knives have been extremely popular over the years thanks to their lightweight, high performance build and affordable price.

Great knife, sharp, slim, and easy to carry.

Near perfect pocket knife
Brian D. on Feb 25, 2019

Great size, durable construction, gets better with use. FRN felt a little too grippy at first but I either got used to it or it smoothed out a bit with wear. Add a deep carry Lynch clip and your set for a very long time.

My first Spyderco!
John C. on Feb 22, 2019

I can blame Nick Shabazzzz! After watching so many reviews he always pulls out the grey delica for comparison. This is a great little EDC and can take on your every day tasks with ease. With a little practice you can 1 hand close. Love my grey delica....damn you Nick!

My new EDC knife!! This is my first Spyderco purchase and I am 100% impressed and would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a sub 3" EDC folder. It is razor sharp and has a beautiful grind with the blade being dead centered in the handle. The FRN scales feel good in the hand and the hole in the blade allows me to flick it out quickly each time I use it. The size is perfect for my sm.-md. sized hands. I have customized mine with a Toler deep carry clip and a Wisemen co. signet ring. The Delica 4 is light enough to dissapear in the pocket but solid enough to perform any task I throw at it. Spyderco has made a repeat customer out of me already! Blade HQ got it to me nice and quickly and I cannot thank them enough. If you need an EDC knife look no farther, this is it.

I love it with a deep carry clip!
Justin T. on Oct 21, 2018

When I first got my Delica I was a little disappointed. It felt great in my hand, but I just didn't carry it. The first day I used it, I bent the clip. I fixed the clip but the Delica flipped out of my pocket somehow the next time I carried it. So, I wasn't the most pleased with the knife. Again, it was great in the hand and great to use, I just wasn't pocketing it. Then I picked up a deep carry clip, and this is now the knife I pocket most days.

All around classic
Landon B. on Oct 13, 2018

Probably the best all around knife for the money. I prefer the para 3 for EDC for its ruggedness and S30V but the delica is a perfect beater knife or for someone who wants quality but doesn't want to break the budget. V10 requires sharpening more often but takes a super sharp edge.

Light weight EDC
Corey D. on Oct 12, 2018

The spyderco delica is my favorite spyderco in my collection. Light weight and very ergonomic. I highly recommend this knife.

Best edc knife
mark b. on Oct 12, 2018

I own hundreds of knives. This is the best knife for weight, size, design, steel choice, and price for every day average use in my opinion.

The perfect EDC
Hunter C. on Jan 22, 2018

The Delica is a great knife for everything that would be considered medium to light knife usage. Light weight practical design, and I love the VG-10 steel it’s easy to sharpen and holds a good edge. Only negatives would be that it’s way to easy to void Spydercos warranty and the pocket clip got dinged up pretty fast. Having said that if I had to choose one model of knife to buy for the rest of my life the Delica would be that knife it’s just to practical for a great price.

Lightweight EDC
M A. on Jan 19, 2018

Great for slicing and not weighing you down. Simple design.

Alvis S. on Jan 19, 2018

This is one of the best edc knives I’ve owned if not the best. I’d consider buying 2 so you always have a backup handy.

The standard for EDC
Miguel L. on Jan 15, 2018

This knife is perfect for EDC. You don't need anything else for a normal EDC cutting tool. Super lightweight, comfortable, perfect blade shape, good steel for its category. The action is good and easy (not for fondling). Internal steel liners give an extra point for toughness. Frn handle is very comfortable and useful. I think it was OK at its previous price. Now with the new uprising prices from spyderco not so much. But I guess we'll have to deal with it. There are other good options at this price point.

Amazing lightweight sturdy EDC
Zachary B. on Jan 6, 2018

I love the Delica 4. It is so light weight and the vg10 steel works well, is sharp and holds it, and is easy to sharpen. One of the best Spydercos you can buy.

Everyone needs one
Erica S. on Jan 5, 2018

If you have watch Marty from Budget Bugout- you have surely heard the hype of this blade. And it stands true! Extremely light weight. Takes a razor edge, and solid lock up. I don’t even know it’s in my pocket when I carry it! Everyone needs a Delica for their EDC!

Great Knife
Chase B. on Jan 5, 2018

The delica is fantastic in every aspect. Sal Glesser ergonomics and a thin full flat ground VG-10 3 inchish blade. It's great. Price is getting a little high though.

Superb EDC
Bryan H. on Jan 5, 2018

The ideal EDC for me; lightweight and performs 90% of my EDC tasks well: cardboard / box cutting, food prep, pkg opening, small to medium rope cutting, etc. Handle fits XL hands (no room off the end), possibly not XXL. Great ergos. Decent edge retention, a breeze to sharpen. Just the right amount of jimping on the thumb ramp. Not a hard use knife. Drawbacks: 1) the clip will scratch up with regular carry, and 2) it is not deep carry.

Spyderco Delica 4
Marco R. on Jan 5, 2018

I love this knife! My first Spyderco. My favorite knife when I need a smaller blade and have my skinny jeans on.

Awesome EDC
Andrew R. on Jan 5, 2018

I got this knife for Christmas. Excellent slicing ability. Slim in the pocket. Lightweight. Great Carry

Awesome knife
Christopher A. on Jan 21, 2017

Thanks blade HQ the delica is an awesome knife I abused a meadowlark to see if I wanted to spend the extra money on the spydie and I can clearly see where the extra money goes awesome jimping sharper blade smoother action just an all around great knife the meadowlark is an awesome knife as well just not as refined as the delicate

Great EDC.
Aaron L. on Sep 20, 2016

Perfect for some, not enough for others, just plain and simple in design and execution, there is not a lot that can't be learned about this knife by looking at it. Form follows function perfectly, with easy opening, excellent gripping options, and so lightweight you might forget you're carrying a deployable razor in your pocket.

Awesome lightweight EDC
Drake B. on Jul 31, 2019

This was my go to knife for many years. If you are looking for a super thin and light knife that has a good steel that holds up well, the delica is a great option. The handle is very comfortable and its light enough to forget you are even carrying it. The blade stock is also rather thin paired with a thin edge angle, this knife is an incredible slicer. VG-10 also holds an edge well and is incredibly easy to get shaving sharp.

Consider the size!
Andrew O. on Feb 23, 2019

Excellent knife, well built, and a good deal at this price. If you have larger hands though, I recommend choosing perhaps an Endura!

A great everyday carry!
Paul P. on Jan 5, 2018

Always loved the Delica series. I own several in stainless steel handles and VG-10 in hollow grind. One of the thinnest carry blades, which is perfect if you don’t like something that prints in your pocket. VG-10 steel is one of the easiest to sharpen, even with Spyderco’s Double Stuff stones (and even a in-a-pinch stropping with its leather pouch!). Delica is my go-to!!!

Dom M. on Oct 18, 2015

This knife can get unbelievably sharp, and the ergonomics on the handle are flawless. Excellent jimping, nice g-10 scales. The only problem I have with this knife is that it chips under hard usage. I know its purpose is edc, but dont try to use it for rugged tasks.

Did not like mine for hard work
John R. on Jul 11, 2020

Eh, no good for us working men and women I’m afraid. This knife is like a brand-new sports car off the lot, with a 4-cylinder engine in it. The sleek design and razor sharp edge out of the box make you think it’ll perform like a Ferrari but in reality the VG-10 blade chips so easily you don’t even need the well gripping handle for a firm hold. Knives are tools, and tools are built to work. The Delica can’t handle much work. I will say I was hard on this knife, but I am hard on all my knives. I wasn’t out bashing it with a sledgehammer or running it over in a bulldozer. It just couldn’t live up to working life in a factory setting, I guess. Within a month of using this knife to cut strapping, breakdown boxes, and whatever else it was needed for the pocket clip routinely became loose. I’m sure some Locktight would have solved the problem but I never made it to that because eventually the clip fell off and I lost it all together. I really liked the design and feel of this knife. The serrated edge came in handy on more than one occasion. I just got tired of having to sharpen the blade all the time and chipping it on more rugged tasks. At only 2.5 ounces and with a blade thickness under 0.10’’ I understand this knife was built with some limitations in mind. The very solid and grippy handle lead me to believe it was intended to be a work horse though. The handle even contours to your hand so you don’t have to worry about it slipping out while working. I think this knife was built for a different demographic than myself. I have held the Spyderco Para 3 in my hand and it feels like it was built more for us blue collar guys. I hope to review it in the future. With that being said I can’t recommend the Spyderco Delica 4 as your EDC unless you work in some sort of setting that doesn’t require rugged and reliable tools.
