Description:
This Para 3 Sprint Run is made of diamond arc textured G-10 handle and a CPM-S45VN blade.
The Para 3 is a more compact version of Spyderco's immensely popular Paramilitary 2. It features the same high-strength Compression Lock, textured G-10 scales, and a scaled-down, full-flat ground CPM-S45VN blade. This is another solid design from Spyderco that's sure to please those who love the PM2, but prefer shorter blades or live in areas with blade-length restrictions.
I was lucky to find this available here since I wanted this version more than any other I had seen. The Para 3 has become my favorite Spyderco knife for its size, serious build qualities, fit and finish. The knife is virtually perfect with smooth action, precise blade centering and a great lock mechanism. This green G-10 is a unique and unusually nice looking handle material. I'm glad I was able to get one.
Love the texture of the grips. Action is great as always with Spyderco.
wish it wasn't limited.
Once again Spyderco did a great job with their QC on this sprint run. Action, fit and finish, blade steel, hardware...all are top-notch. The textured G-10 really is textured, this baby isn't going to be slipping out of your hands anytime soon but not to the point of being uncomfortable. I really like the satin polished clips that Spyderco put on these...just wish they also made a deep carry alternative to swap it out with.
Love this knife, Lucky to get this version. I think the s45vn is a well balanced steel and suits this knife very well. It's an all around great user that holds up to heavy use. The egos are great ant the action is really nice. My one gripe is the very rough texture of the scales. It's like trying to put a cheese grater in your pocket.
Since I was already in possession of the PM2 in S45vn with the Green G10, I HAD TO HAVE this guy. It certainly was an exciting few days trying to snag this. Literally missed 9 drops at 9 different retailers by minutes of these selling out. At the point of giving up, BHQ hits me with an in stock notification email. Turned my frown updside down. What can be said about the knife that hasn't already been said? I feel like if this is a knife you want, you probably already know all there is to know about the Para 3 anyway so I'll just hit up some points I noticed with the unit I got. It was a bit tight. Had to back the pivot off just a hair to get that fidgety action. Also the texture is ROUGH. Gonna be a pocket destroyer over time for sure. Ease up the tension on the pocket clip and should be good. Would have like to see them chamfer the scales on these sprint runs as a value add.
This was my first spyderco, having never handled any other spyderco knife, I was pleasantly surprised on the fit and finish. I enjoy the ergos, the lanyard hole is a bit awkward, but doesn't take away from it personally. My only real gripe with particular model, is that the g-10 texturing feels like a pocket eater.
