This Para 3 model has a black G-10 handle and a black finished blade with a plain edge.

The Para 3 is a more compact version of Spyderco's immensely popular Paramilitary 2. It features the same high-strength Compression Lock, textured G-10 scales, and a scaled-down, full-flat ground CPM-S30V blade. This is another solid design from Spyderco that's sure to please those who love the PM2, but prefer shorter blades or live in areas with blade-length restrictions.

  • CPM-S30V blade offers exceptional cutting power and edge retention.
  • Ergonomic textured G-10 handle offers heightened comfort and grip strength.
  • Four-position pocket clip and a lanyard hole provides numerous carry options.

Its sweet

Love this thing. Blade centering blade sharpness and locking mechanism are flawless as expected. Only odd part is they used a pin instead of a Torx screw just above the compression lock, hopefully that won't make the knife hard to take apart when needed. Also one of the backspacer pillars came silver instead of blacked out like the rest of the hardware, kind of doesn't make sense for the look of the knife. Overall it still kicks ass.
Spyderco at their finest!

I own almost 10 spydercos, and when this arrived today I was in heaven. Right out of the box the opening is smooth as silk. The compression lock is perfect, and the blacked out S30V is crisp. My only wish is that I would have bought this knife month's ago.
Some quirks but very good knife

I bought this knife to replace my para2 while it was off to Spyderco warranty. I'm just going to list some pros and cons. These are also just my opinions and solely based on the knife I received.

·good fit and finish
·lockup is tight
·fits large hands well
·knife came sharp
·even grinds on both sides
·grippy g10 (not too grippy)

·tip up carries too high
·unneeded lanyard hole

So in short the knife I received was all in all perfect as far as edge and fit and finish. I researched the knife before purchasing and ordered a deep carry clip. So I will not be knocking the knife for the cons as everyone should know these before buying it. I would recommend the knife.
The best edc knife in my opinion hands down!

This is literally the best edc knife on the market today. great weight, great grip, and great open and closing action. Well worth the price.
Fantastic knife-A MUST BUY

Perfect knife for those that want a smaller knife to carry everyday. Out of the box this knife is super smooth. Whether you use the thumb hole to open or a fun flick of your (middle) finger. Fits in hand as if it was molded to my own. Great EDC knife.

Do to blade design knife/sypderco hole opener, the life is slightly wider than I prefer when closed.
The actual cutting surface of the blade smaller that the blade looks, due to the choke up grip area (which is nice to have though).
I would prefer if it came with a deep pocket carry clip because the standard clip leaves about an inch of the knife exposed.

With all of this, I would rebuy this knife in a heartbeat.
Fantastic EDC!

Perfect size for EDC, came razor sharp and locks up solid. Can't recommend the Para 3 enough, if you love the Paramilitary 2 you'll love the Para 3.
Great knife!

Great EDC knife! Price point is spot on for the quality you get. Only thing I had to do was get a deep carry clip, but that was just because I felt that it rode to high in my pocket. Would highly recommend this knife for someone looking for a smaller EDC knife!
Best EDC!

Absolutely stellar knife! Perfect size for everyday carry even when not clipped to your pocket. In fact, mine is usually down in the pocket. Holds edge great, G10 is grippy, super smooth action and overall my favorite knife i own.
Perfect edc

I always wanted a paramilitary 2 but because of where I live I can’t carry anything above 3 inches, once the para 3 came around my prayers have been answered.
Great edc

One of my favorite knives now, as expected from Spyderco. It’s sharp as heck. Some reviews said that it sits too high in the pocket, but you could just put the pocket clip on the other side for a tip down carry and voila problem solved.
Great EDC

Snagged this as my first EDC blade after much research and this is a phenomenal knife! A great size for one handed use. Perfect weight!
Beefy Delica 4

I will confess, that if you have a Delica 4 or a Paramilitary 2, this is probably not the knife for you. I liked the knife, but for me it doesn't match a best of both worlds for me.

The quality is exactly as expected, stellar! However, the execution of the design left me a little empty. That hight lanyard hole placement is just plain awkward for tip up carry. With this, it also made the knife sit funny in the pocket, since the Spydie hole pushes the knife out at an angle. This makes a small knife feel much bigger in the pocket, which is a big deal for me. If you are a tip up carry person, this will feel more prominent and uncomfortable than a Manix 2.

If you carry tip down, most of these concerns go away, which is great! This knife is a great blade shape, is not too heavy, and has good steel. It's not bad, but if you have a Delica or Paramilitary 2, I'd probably pass because you most likely alternate those two instead.
Great EDC knife

Great sized knife for EDC. I have the Para 2 as well and I like them both. But some days I don't want to carry a larger knife. The Para 3 is almost too small for my hand but with the added finger choil it makes slicing and cutting tasks very comfortable. My only issue is that since it's a full flat grind, leaf shaped blade I try to avoid too much abuse to avoid breaking the tip. But the grind is what makes it such a great slicer. I carry mine with the Wisemen Company Fang which puts a wave opener on the para, I just wish Spyderco would make a para model with the wave from the factory.
My new EDC

Delica 4 was my beloved EDC, carried for 2 years straight, but this came out and killed my Delica, now it's my EDC. Better steel, g10 grip, and compression lock gives me more range of use and ease of use. At first I thought it would be a bigger carry, but it's not noticeable. The step up from vg10 to s30v is a big difference in sharpening time. Also, this particular model with coated blade is much more office friendly imo, since you don't flash out a shining steel in front of others. The coating is superb, spyderco does a great job on coatings, it just doesn't comes out. Flicking it open its a wonder, feels almost assisted like. The compression lock is very comfortable, although mine wont free fall the blade it still is fun to play with. I'm very satisfied.
Great knife

perfect lock up, great size just like the delica, still very light also.
Nice job Spyderco

This is a perfect size knife for EDC. Just my opinion though:)
The G10 on this model is aggressive, and probably the highest quality G10 that money can buy. The fit and finish is superb as expected, and the DLC is nicely done, It's completely matte finished, with the only reflective parts of the knife being the Spyderco Bug logo, the compression lock/liners and the blade's edge grind.

Very sharp out of the box. I've read reviews saying that the pocket clip creates a hot spot on the palm but I don't see any issues with this as of yet. Only negative I can say is that the knife rides high in the pocket, but I ordered a deep carry clip to fix that problem. Other than that it's an awesome knife, definitely a work horse. This knife will handle any task I throw at it just fine.
