Description:
The Para 3 is a more compact version of Spyderco's immensely popular Paramilitary 2. It features the same high-strength Compression Lock, textured G-10 scales, and a scaled-down, full-flat ground blade. This is another solid design from Spyderco that's sure to please those who love the PM2, but prefer shorter blades or live in areas with blade-length restrictions.
Got my Spyderco Paramilitary 3 with Maxamet steel and grey G-10 handle and it looks awesome. The edge was extremely sharp out of the box and the knife feels great on my hand. I had to loosen one of the screws a little bit to be able to open and close the knife with one hand (it was too tight) but that's not a big deal. The knife comes with a warning card and more warnings in the manual explaining that Maxamet steel is super hard and retains the edge extremely well but it is NOT rust-resistant and the warranty does NOT cover rust. For that reason, I've already oiled the knife a couple of times. My advice is that maybe don't go fishing or scuba diving with this knife LOL
This thing is great! Very sharp. Nice stonewash. I had a PM2 and felt it was too large so I gave it to my little brother as his first "nice" knife. This thing fits my hands great. I have big hands but skinnier fingers so it makes more sense.
I got this knife on Monday and used it all week as a edc work knife . I’m a plumber/pipe fitter I'm tough on blades I had a benchmade bugout which was just to light duty for my needs . The para3 has been used a lot From cutting rope , card board , insulation . When cutting insulation I cut down to copper pipe and cut across the whole pipe to slide insulation off . With all this it’s as sharp as when I got it very impressive never had a knife stay razor sharp . One con I live in Eastern NC it gets very hot & humid I noticed surface rust on just day 2 . So my routine now is when I get home from work is to clean knife and oil blade . I’m ok with oiling the blade often as a trade for having a razor sharp knife stay sharp after hard use
I already own two Para Military 2's. This Para 3 is a little smaller and I really like to size. The gray G10 handle and stonewashed Maxamet blade is a great combination. I can see this will become my favorite EDC in my collection.
Wow - what a nice knife. Action is great, blade is very sharp. Color is great. I applied some Tuf Glide to the blade just to keep everything spotless. This is my third Para 3 (30, 110, Maxamet) and my favorite so far
I bought this blade with high hopes and it surpassed them right out of the box. The feel and weight of the knife is perfect for my everyday use cases. It is razor blade sharp and stout enough to tackle bigger projects. The first time you use this knife you will get the price.
The Paramilitary's are all great, snag one asap! #GimmeDatAxe Semper Fi
Really like this knife, except mine came uncentered. It's enough to make me consider sending it back in, but who wants that for a knife they just received? Overall the knife is fantastic in both ergos and sharpness. Very impressed
