Description

Description

The IZULA, from ESEE Knives. The locals in Peru call the meanest, nastiest ant of the jungle by the name "Isula". We know it as the Bullet Ant. The Bullet Ant is known to be independent, tough, light on its feet, and a real aggressive survivor - the IZULA knife is built the same way. This knife is designed to be the perfect lightweight survival kit or concealed carry knife. Includes durable black injection molded carry sheath (see picture). Grey Silver Izula Version

I love my grey Izula so much I almost named it. I actually EDC this thing at my desk job (hence the color choice) and then take it out hiking on the weekends. There is nothing this knife can't do (well, except not corrode, more on that in a minute). I do everything with it from opening BladeHQ packages to feathersticking to prying to just beating the heck out of it. 1095 steel means its can take a touchup in the field which I do all the time. I don't even use scales or paracord. The skeletonized frame makes it light and easy to handle (but I use gloves when really torquing down on it). But what I love most is its simplicity. Its just a single piece of metal with no locking mechanism to fail.

But it will rust and corrode no doubt about that. I have to keep it dry in the field or I'll be scraping the rust off when I get home. I keep a brush and oil for it on my bench just for this purpose. Even now it has rust spots on the sharpened edge because I got lazy one weekend. ESEE I will give you one of my kidneys for a 3V version of the Izula.

I highly recommend this knife. Its simple, reliable, and extremely tough and light. Just keep it dry and lubed.
