The Kershaw Blur is a favorite among knife enthusiasts. The Blur has the build and performance of a great general purpose knife with everyday carry friendly attributes as well. The Ken Onion designed Blur is an assisted opening knife, just give the blade a push with the ambidextrous thumb stud and the Speed Safe technology finishes opening the blade! To close, just slide the liner lock to release the blade.

I ordered the knife Aug.9th, and it arrived Aug 13th (4 day shipping)! I was very impressed by the shipping speed! Very sharp and a great opening mechanism, high quality materials from what I can tell. Will update after using it for some time!
Incredible!! Wicked sharp right out of the box, anything that your cutting through will be like butter!! And the Trac-Tek inserts are amazing so grippy and so much fun to play with, not a problem at all. This is also my first of many Kershaw Knives, the speed safe technology is no joke.
I just got this knife today and love it. I only do reviews after I own something for a couple of weeks to a couple of months. This knife is an exception. Within in 10 minutes this knife became a keeper. I am always looking for the perfect knife for hiking. My expectations are a knife with an excellent handle that would be hard to drop as well as being durable. The handle is great for this. I have gone through a half dozen knifes that I have used for hiking. The last one I used now which is good as well is a buck auto which has the same material on the handle but less real estate. This knife fits the bill more so then the buck. It has a better handle and is lighter. The knife opens up with a breeze as well as closing it. The quality is very good like all kershaw knives that are made the US. I usually keep the belt clip on a knife if it is comfortable. But when it comes a knife with a gritty handle I remove it cause it is easier to flip and better holding. As I finish this review I going to buy one or two more. Get this knife you will love it!!!!!
Im a mechanic and I have carried this knife daily for over a year. Excellent build quality. Sharp out of the box and easy to resharpen. Fits the hand nicely. Only con is I wish it came with a deep carry clip. But they are offered 3rd party. This completes the knife honestly.
Great knife, lightweight and easy to open. Textured handle makes it easy to grip even when your hands are covered in grease. Slight push with the thumb and the blade swings open. Carried the leek design kershaw for a while, this is now my new favorite
A great all around knife . Great texture , great grip even when wet or wearing gloves .
Everything about this knife is amazing. The quality is second to none and like any USA made Kershaw the blade comes razor sharp. Also BladeHQ deserves 6/5 stars for excellent customer service and fast shipping.
This has been my EDC for 10 years. I live it and feel naked without it. I now have 4.
Just ordered the blur and even though I haven't received it in the mail I still give it five stars. Been looking at the blur for a long time and finally went ahead a got it. Looking forward to this evening my go to work knife. Didn't get the s30v version just because ease of sharping plus the black on black just looks slick. Can't wait!! Update:Finally received the blur in the mail. Wow this thing is much nicer than expected. Well built knife. Well balance, the grip is amazing. It crazy you can get this type quality for the money. S30v is NICE but I'm glad I got the black on black version .
Absolutely love the blur. Action is fast and smooth. Blade is extremely sharp out the box. Solid construction and very lightweight. Perfect EDC.
This knife is great! The action is smooth, the lock up is solid, it feels substantial but not heavy, perfect centering, great blade steel, and the coating seems durable. Like most people here I have a knife addiction but since i got this one 4 months ago I haven't purchased any other knife. It's a solid EDC that i can count on yet disappears in my pocket. If you're on the fence, buy it. You won't regret it. The only ding i can give this knife is on the pocket clip. My preference is for deep carry and the stock clip makes it ride a bit too high for me. This was easily solved with an after market titanium clip.
I have the old version of this blur. The date on the blade says sep 06. The Blur is kinda big for an EDC but not bad. When it is in your pocket it feels lighter than it is. Great ergonomics, and keeps a good edge. It's held up great for the longest time, but about a year ago the spring mechanism broke leaving the knife useless. Insted of sending the knife to Kershaw to get it fixed I took it apart and got rid of the spring mechanism. Without the assisted opening, the Blur still works great and is one of the smoothest opening knives I've ever felt. 10/10 awesome, indestructible knife.
First "expensive" knife I have owned. Great texture. Provides extreme grip when your hands might be wet or slicked up with oil etc. The assisted opening helps when you only have one hand free and need to cut quickly.
I'm a big Kershaw fan so my review might be slanted a bit. I carried one Kershaw or another for almost 20 years. By far the Blur is favorite. I purchased a second one just to pass onto my grandson. I also purchased the Purple Blur for my wife because she likes the size more than her Cryo.
I just don't believe you will find a better knife for 60 dollars. The feel and quality of this knife is great. The assisted opening is faster than most autos. You can't go wrong buying this knife. Love it.
Great knife, but Kershaw should make this knife so the pocket clip can be attached on the left side of the knife for lefties like me.
The handle screws go all the way through from the face of the knife, good design. Thumb studs and screws never wiggle loose no matter the times dropped. Tractech inserts never come out no matter the amount of times it gets wet or sweaty, and the best part is, though this knife is only $60 it has bronze washers for the blade to float on. They always provide a smooth and fast glide open.
This was the first good quality knife I ever got. My father in law ordered it, but didn't like it since it wasn't a flipper so he gave it to me. I fell in love with it. The assisted open is really nice. the grip on the knife is very nice to the hand. The only complaint I have about it is the blade shape is really hard for me to sharpen on a wet stone. (This is probably only a problem for a novice sharpener). Other than that, this knife is awesome!
Ken Onion design. I love the assisted opening. I think its a very underrated knife.
The blade comes sharp, it has no wobble, and finish is high quality. The blade shape, although very pretty, is tricky to sharpen. The action is fast, but true to most of Mr. Onion's designs...needs a little loosening of the first backspacer bolt to fire consistently. Lookup is secure and the knife is easy to work one-handed. The clip came tip down, which is weird but easy to fix. Gimping is subtle but effective and the grip is solid and very aggressive. All in all, the Blur is a great looking and working knife. I have no idea why they removed the spur, but the thumb stud works just fine. The weight, feel, size, and look of this guy is a real treat. Probably my favorite Ken Onion so far. 82/100
One of the first knives I ever owned. I ended up purchasing it in many colors (black, red, od green and many steels (440A, Sandvic 12c27n, 14c28n, 154cm, S30V). I love the recurve blade and it was the first knife I owned with speed safe. The more knives I carried the more I found there were things I didn't like about this knife. With hard use the blade would develop play. The thumb stud is sharp and you tend to scratch your hand when putting you hand in your pocket. The handles were so aggressively textured they tore up a lot of my jean pockets. NOTE: These are issues with Blurs from 2012 and before. I haven't handled a newer Blur so some, if not all issues might have been fixed. Build quality: 4 stars Materials: 4 stars Aesthetics: 3 stars Personal likability: 3 stars
There are a lot of great things about the knife. Thumb stud is good, blade shape is very usable, very percise tip, and good traction plan. Some of the things I don't really like about it are the pocket clip, which rides too high in my opinion, and the coating on the blade which (as the knife ages) will wear.
