The Kershaw Blur is a favorite among knife enthusiasts. The Blur has the build and performance of a great general purpose knife with everyday carry friendly attributes as well. The Ken Onion designed Blur is an assisted opening knife, just give the blade a push with the ambidextrous thumb stud and the Speed Safe technology finishes opening the blade! To close, just slide the liner lock to release the blade.

Kershaw Blur
Austin R. on Oct 31, 2019

My brother bought me the Kershaw Blur 11 years ago when I was in 8th grade for my birthday. The Blur was my first knife and I always wanted one because he had a Kershaw Blur Tanto blade in solid Black. It is 11 years later, and I just mailed my Kershaw Blur to Kershaw for repair and sharpening. I am currently a Police Officer in West Virginia and I have counted on this knife every day for the last 5 years of my career. Oh and by the way, my brother also carries his black tanto Blur EVERY DAY and his is older than mine!! The Kershaw Blur has been with me through highschool, college, and Law Enforcement. This knife has been through the West Virginia mountains, rivers, and even the Gulf of Mexico. I've used and abused the Kershaw Blur and the reason I am sending it in for repairs is because the assist doesn't have enough power to lock it fully open, a good cleaning and oiling would probably fix it but... in 11 years I have done zero maintenance. I highly recommend this knife to anyone looking to get into knives.

Towards the top of my rotation

This is a great knife. I really like the flat thumb studs on it. Incredibly smooth opening with the Speedsafe tech.

You get what you pay for. Wish the pocket clip was redesigned, but it's a quality tool otherwise.

Best Kershaw beater

I have been using this knife as my backpacking folder for quite some time now and it has stood to the test. The blade shape is really what I love about this knife. The little curve in the blade slices right through things. The size and assisted opening of this knife just add to how great it is. I know I will be using this knife for years to come.

Classic
Richard G. on Feb 4, 2018

One of the first knives I ever owned. I ended up purchasing it in many colors (black, red, od green and many steels (440A, Sandvic 12c27n, 14c28n, 154cm, S30V). I love the recurve blade and it was the first knife I owned with speed safe. The more knives I carried the more I found there were things I didn't like about this knife. With hard use the blade would develop play. The thumb stud is sharp and you tend to scratch your hand when putting you hand in your pocket. The handles were so aggressively textured they tore up a lot of my jean pockets. NOTE: These are issues with Blurs from 2012 and before. I haven't handled a newer Blur so some, if not all issues might have been fixed. Build quality: 4 stars Materials: 4 stars Aesthetics: 3 stars Personal likability: 3 stars

Not Bad
Seth S. on Apr 1, 2021

This is a good knife that got me back into collecting. The knife feels and looks good. On the downside however, I have learned that I absolutely hate the assisted opening. If you like to fidget with your knife, you may want to steer clear from this one.
