The Paramilitary 2 as we know it today is the second iteration of the old Para Military, a model designed by Spyderco as a more compact and accessible version of their Military model. But if you're looking for something even more compact, the Para 3 might be the knife for you!
Took some time to convince myslef to the "hole". After trying Tenacious I had to pull the trigger on this classic. All the small details which are sometimes bothering in China made models, which are awesome too, go away. Love it. Thanks BladeHQ for being awesome with your customers.
I finally pulled the trigger and got the hard to get para2! I ordered this exact one because every other one was sold out. So I hurried and bought it. I love everything about this knife. I carry it everyday. I almost don’t want to use it because it’s so beautiful. Super scary sharp. Love the g10 texture scales. The only thing that is strange is that I noticed that the steel is in CPM S 45 VN instead of S 30 V… which is no big deal at all. So I was just a little bit confused by that because I can’t find this knife with S45VN on here. But I’d rather have S45VN anyways. It came super super fast in the mail. Like 2 days witch is very fast. So I was so happy about that. Thanks BHQ. Hopefully you guys will get some hardware back in stock soon so I can customize this bad boy up!
The Spyderco Paramilitary 3 with camouflage G10 handle and CPM-S30V steel is an awesome knife. It looks great, cuts super well, has is very fidgety. I absolutely love it.
The PM2 is a great knife! When I bought it I thought it was just going to be overrated. I've heard so many people talk about it and love it but I never thought it could've been that great. Right out of the box it was razor sharp. The mechanics behind it are absolutely amazing. I absolutely love the compression lock.10/10 recommend!
Don’t hesitate buying this knife. This is my fifth Spyderco knife and my second Paramilitary 2. I love them all but the Paramilitary 2 is my favorite. The CMP-S30V is a great Steel. Yes it is expensive but Comparing it it my Spyderco Tenacious it is a much better knife. Remember the blade steel is the heart of the knife. The Paramilitary 2 has a Awesome heart.
I love this knife, it really is legendary among spyderco fans, and for good reason. Despite being very large, it pockets really well, and the full flat grind makes it a great slicer without it feeling like theres not enough steel behind the edge that it will be prone to breaking. Like with most spyderco knives, would recommend grabbing a Lynch Northwest deep carry clip to pair with it.
My wife purchased a Spyderco from Ebay and it was made in China...I think she paid $45 or so for a smaller version....Wow! Remember, you get what you pay for. I got this knife and it is light years ahead of the China one....this one is very smooth to operate, the blade steel is razor sharp, I mean very sharp and the G10 handles grip very well. This is one of the best knives I own.....Good quality, good steel, easy to open and close with one hand.
Ive been using this knife since 2012 and its amazing. Still as smooth as the day i got it!
bought one 4 years ago. one of the best knife purchase i made. fast action, solid lock up, sharp blade. highly recommended.
My first Syderco, P2, at first the blade felt bulky, but with a few flicks and a couple of days of carrying, it has found its way into my EDC. Super shape right out of the box, the camo G-10 scales are grippy and stylin'. It impressed me so much just ordered a Native 5, dark blue, in S110 V , I am a drop point junkie. Sold on Spyderco.
Definitely my favorite spyderco knife, hands down! The compression lock system is awesome for single handed deployment. Buttery smooth action and just about the grippiest G10 scales of any knife. I'd say perfect ergonomics, as it fits in my hand perfectly and comfortably. I don't usually go for higher end knives, but my P2 was definitely worth every penny. I even got mine laser engraved with my name (with the army font), it's looks pretty awesome if I do say so myself ;)
Great knife, so smoothe, had to order clip screws as one of the screws had a flat like place on it. Other than that great knife, 3.75 oz, but my scales show 3.88, carries so good in the pocket.
I have really wanted a Spyderco for a while now and I am really happy that I finally bought one. I am a collector and have started looking at some good quality knives with higher end steel. I went with this one because I wanted something that wasn't just your basic handle knife design and also had the s30v steel. It fits beautifully in the hand and is real easy to open and close. It is also really sturdy when it is open. I would take one star off because one of the clip screws came stripped but Spyderco stands by their product and is sending me out new screws.
The para 2 design is my all time favorite folder out of many knife brands both high and low end. Nothing beats the bang for the buck that you get with the Para 2. I'm very happy with this purchase.
I finally pulled the trigger on this one. This is the first high quality folder ive ever bought. And i finally see why every one loves them . Everything is perfect. Thanks blade hq .
this knife is my last knife ..... not to own of course but if i had to pick one this is it i do alot of hunting fishing outdoor stuff hard at work and it stays true its also very easy to sharpen and get the edge back to cut your soul sharp i would definitely recommend this knife to anyone and if you are on the fence jump it will be worth it
I had this knife in my pocket every day for over a year now. It hasn't been babied either. It has never let me down. The best upgrade you can do is to get a deep carry pocket clip from MXG gear.
Now I know my title sounds a bit far fetched, but I have been collecting pocket knives for several years and own Benchmades, Cold Steels, Spydercos, CRKT, etc. and the PM 2 is easily the most comfortable and dependable. The handle seems to fit any size hand great, the lockup is sturdy and strong, and the S30V blade slices like an absolute champ. This knife is a hardworking, sleek, and high quality tool that I would 10/10 recommend for anyone.
I never had a nice knife until I got this one. It's so amazing I got a para 3 to match.
Over the course of the past 10 years, my love over pocket knives has sort of turned into an obsession. And one of the knives responsible for that it this one. The Para 2. I had a decent collection of $50somthing knives until I placed my hands on a Para 2. Long story short, I now have 2 Para 2s, three Delica 4s, a centofante, 2 Enduras, a Manix, a Yojimbo... And a host of ZTs, Benchmades and a microtech or 2. My favorite though, my #1 carry, my Para 2 in digicam. Get it.
I've had a para2 for years and it's still my go to EDC blade. I have a para1 and a para3 as well but the 2 holds a special place in my heart. It's ergonomics are spot on and it takes a WICKED edge! So if your on the fence about getting one then let me help you out..... BUY IT! Trust me, you won't regret it (:
I have many high end knives, and this PM2 is one of my favorites. The quality of this blade is great, the steel is amazing, the fit and finish is just flawless. Price is perfect for what you're getting as well. I don't think I have any complaints on this blade. I will say this is probably the sharpest knife I have ever gotten from a factory. Very pleased.
Got my pm2 a few years ago, it held up flawlessly it's been through alot. Edge retention is great due to s30v and not too hard to sharpen. I've had other knives come and go but this one has stayed the longest and will stick around for a long time to come. Pros: -great beater knife -big but not too big. - Edge retention is great. -Ease of sharpening is so-so. -Jimping and ergos are top tier Cons: -may be big for some people. -G10 may be a bit agressive at first, -lanyard hole is hard to get out on disassembly.
I have been using this knife for almost a year now and it has done everything I have asked of it. It has cut anything from bags of quickcrete, to straw bales, to wood, and cardboard boxes. I have since used rit die to make the camo handles dark blue and attached an mxg gear deep carry clip.
This is an excellent overall knife. It’s not to big and not to small. It feels really good and is very sharp. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone!!
Love the gimping!!! Few knives are done right with gimping. This one is. Super ergonomic. Not a fan of the clip that much so I switched mine out with a lynch deep carry titanium clip. Love the blade profile, and the fact that there are many sprint runs. Only complaint is it's seemingly impossible to unscrew the screws to take it apart, at least for me. Still will give 5 stars.
This has been a great knife to carry. I work as a paramedic and usually have a lot of stuff i carry on my person, so sometimes its nice to have a lightweight but heavy duty knife that i know will handle any task i need whether its cutting a seat belt off of a patient or cutting open a new package. Love it!
Super helpful and trusty for fried work, wouldn’t use any other knife!
This was my first high end knife about 6 years ago. It gave me a new appreciation for what a good knife can do. It has aged amazingly and still competes with my Hinderers and Chris Reeves.
This has been my favorite out of all my knives. Its so smooth and well made. Lock up is perfect.
This knife is going to be a legend in its own right if it's not already. My rotation changes all the time except for this knife. It hasn't left my rotation since the day I bought it. That was 8 years ago.
Great knife for the money smooth compression lock great g-10 scales great s30v steel great for edc
This is a great knife I edc it every day I have many more expensive knives including adv tactical and others I like the weight of this knife you forget you are even carrying it came razor sharp out if the box and haven't had to sharpen it yet holds a great edge
My first higher end US knife. It took some getting used to at first. Nearly infinitely customizable knife.
Obviously an awesome knife, in 1I feel like I can rely on. Awesome steel has never let me down and the compression lock is a favorite of mine. Just buy it
I've owned a couple Spyderco knives before buying the Para 2 and love every one of them. Para 2 comes sharp, stays sharp, and the opening and closing of it is great. No complaints about the knife, I look forward to using it for a long time.
Had my eye on this knife for a while and when I finally got it I was not disappointed. Great steel, great ergonomics, smooth action, and the compression lock is amazing. Trust me, you should get this knife.
Built to fill the hand, this knife feels like it can do anything. It is a little bit on the large size for my personal taste, but I really enjoy it. It is a smooth operator with its free-swinging blade; the edge holds up very well. The compression lock is a joy to use, and works for both hands. This knife is also a great fidget tool. Very pleased with the digicam.
about this knife that has not already been said.. Everyone needs a Paramilitary 2. Super lightweight, crazy sharp blade, spydie hole is classic, and the compression lock is incredible. Just buy one.
Title says it all. This knife would be the one I take to a desert island. Good size, great lock. It's also very customizable. Stop reading and get this one you will understand when you get it.
I have owned this knife for over 2 years now and you wouldn’t know just looking at it. It has held up to everything I’ve thrown at it. I highly recommend getting this knife
This Knife is sturdy and well build, the grip is exceptional with the texture that it has. Very nice knife.
Over all the best folder I've ever owned
Having several Spyderco knives, the buzz around the Para 2 finally enticed me to purchase. The focus on many small details add up to one high quality Spyderco. The handle material is very "grippy" with the edges sanded smooth. The four position pocket clip allow you to have it your way for pocket carry. I like the extra large thumb hole as well as the large, metal lined lanyard hole. The choil and jimping are added bonuses when positioning for use. The handle is well designed fills your hand. Made in USA is the final selling point that makes this one a must have in any Spyderco collection.
This is one of the most useful and handiest knives I've carried. Super sharp and sturdy, but lightweight. Great all around versatile knife.
I absolutely love this knife! It flicks right open with that giant thumb-hole Spyderco is notorious for and I think is easier to close than an axis lock. It takes a while to get it sharp but that's made up for by the longevity of its edge. There's no reason to spend the extra sixty bucks on a Benchmade 940 since I love this knife way better than any Benchmade (but they do make great knives).
I just recently became interested in knives and so I wanted to purchase one that was well made and reliable. The Paramilitary 2 by Spyderco is it and more! The blade came out of the box very sharp, even being able to shave some hairs off my arm! The compression lock is superb and I must admit that it had me playing with the knife for a few hours. Also the handle is very comfortable and grippy so you need not worry about it slipping out of your hand. If I could I would give the PM 2 a 10/5 because it is just that darn good! I plan to purchase and install a back spacer and a deeper pocket clip in the near future just to customize it a tad but even if I did not plan on it I would still love the knife all the same. Thank you Spyderco for making an awesome, no, very awesome EDC knife! I will definitely be purchasing more of your products in the future. And thank you Blade HQ for selling this knife at a great price. Consider me a returning customer!
The action, blade sharpness, ergonomics, and one-handed manipulation is outstanding. This knife has the perfect form of jimpingness... No, I'm not kidding. So glad I kept looking for this blade. This is my first Spyderco and it won't be my last!
L.E.O. and military EDC knife built for business. One of my top folder knives. I cannot find one down side to the handle, blade, or overall set up. Add an un-named Brands custom "Tri-Ad" lock to this model and you have the secret formula to a perfect pocket knife. However, Spyderco found the near perfect formula on this model. Great product!!!
I go where my Spyder goes! Great knife, great steel, I never go anywhere without it. I have some fun for the 1st 20 seconds of this video then demonstrate the camo pattern in a Hawaii cloud rainforest. Most people talk about the steel, the G10, the super sharp edge, but everyone already knows this is THE knife so I had fun showing the camo pattern hiking in Hawaii.
I started collecting knives a few years ago,and have always tried to find one that I like better than my PM2. I HAVE YET TO FIND ONE!
I have mostly Benchmade folders, but this new addition really blows them away. Made in USA with textured G10, CPMS30V & lightweight! For only $120 it's by far one of the best folding EDC/Tactical knives you can get.
This was my first spyderco I owned and after collecting for years now it is still one of my favorite knives. It is the best folder for under $150 on the market.
I have had this knife for years, and it has never let me down. Lock up is still tight, and the steel is easy to sharpen and holds edge retention well. It is a little bit more difficult to take down compared to some of my other knives, but not so much as to ruin the knife. Pros: Great ergonomics. Excellent steel. G10 offers plenty of grip. Flat grind looks awesome. Action is good and smooth. Cons: Not the easiest disassembly.
Great knife. I just don't like the digi camo scales. Black G-10 was sold out when I ordered. Great blade on the whole though.
The blade to handle size is weird. The needle point tip does not give me confidence in hand. If it were cheaper I think I'd be more inclined to carry it more and not worry about breaking it.
Great knife, I was against them for along time because they are not 100% usa made. But I don't regret the purchase. I can honestly say id rather pay more for this same knife if Benchmade made it and stood behind it with their warranty, sharpening program and customer service. But it is what it is.
