Great knife. Perfectly tuned right out of the box. Big on fidget factor. Feels great. Looks great. Can't wait to see it's final form when the patina sets in.
Beautiful, a bit impractical

I don't need to explain why the PM2 platform is nearly perfect, and Rex 45 is (possibly) my favorite steel on the market (or maybe it's M4--depends on the day). So why four out of five stars? The weight. Almost half a lb ends up being just too heavy to be practical for a knife the size of the PM2, and although I own plenty of knives that I don't ever plan to use, the first and most important test of any knife design is its practicality, and this one is definitely less practical than any other PM2 variant. On a knife with a handle size of, say, the Chaparral, or maybe even a Native, the copper handle would probably work fine, but on the PM2's large handle it adds just a bit too much weight, at least for my pockets. But I'm still very glad to have picked it up, even if it only ever sits in the safe.

I have purchased many knives from Blade HQ and the ones I really like, I carry, an on occasion, I give the ones I REALLY like away as gifts to my fellow comrades in arms. NO knife and NO gun is a collectible. All are tools to be used and not abused. My latest purchase was the Spyderco PM 2 with copper handles. The blade, the blade coating, the stainless blade lock, and the copper handles will provide lifelong service. I did reposition the pocket clip and did not over tighten the retention clip screws as I am aware of the density of copper and the fine threads in the handle. The weight of the knife came as no surprise as I am aware of how much a half pound weighs and read the specs before my purchase. I NEVER leave my humble abode without my blade. A quality product at a price that only only you can decide is commensurate with the product. Suits me just fine. Stay on the Sunny Side. Cheers

Just picked this up the other day. First impression: this thing is awesome. Super sharp out of the box, good crisp action, looks great. I love the copper scales. Adds some weight but I'm using it for EDC not cutting ounces for backcountry hiking. So far the steel is great and looks like it'll hold up well to daily use. Really looking forward to the scales getting some character.

This knife screams class. Its my first PM2. Not my first Spyderco. The copper scales/handles give the knife a heavier weight, yes. But its not too much for me. With the weight in your hand the blade feels so solid when deployed. This knife will shine in my display case. Not gonna take this to work. Sure to draw every Spyderco fan to it. The blade action is smooth and centered. Everything from Spyderco and now a lil class.
Substantial!

Much heavier than expected, its half a pound. Blade grind is uneven on both sides. I didnt notice in the info that this is a liner-less knife, meaning its all copper, which isnt a problem, yet. The pocket clip screws thread into the steel liners of a standard pm2, with this knife they thread into the copper scale, and copper is very soft... They left the compression lock insert bare steel. Why not powder coat it black to match the rest of the knife?? Those are the only real "issues" with the knife.
The copper is beautiful, stone wash looks amazing. Black blade and hardware (minus compression lock) contrast VERY nicely. Blade centering is good. Should be a real head turner once the copper tarnishes a bit.
All in all its another bad ass spyderco product, feels great in hand, will get lots of pocket time.
But, dang its heavy
WOW!

The PM2 was my first Spyderco and is one of those knives that you have to have at least one if youíre into knives. This is my third and wow the copper version is amazing. The copper adds so much weight to the knife but I absolutely love that. For the most part this isnít gonna be a carry knife for me, not because of the weight, but because I donít want to mess it up. If youíre into the PM2 or just like me and like a knife that feels substantial get one while you can.
