I’ve had this knife for 2 weeks now. Decided to EDC it for the last week. Its been awesome in the pocket. For the size, you really can’t feel it taking up much room. Action is snappy. Great pocket clip.
Wow, what a great knife! At first I thought Blade HQ had screwed up and sent me a AK-47 10 round magazine. Nope, it was the knife, in a box that resembles the magazine. (some clever marketing there, huh?) The knife was packed inside in molded foam. The first thing I noticed about the knife was the fit and finish and a level of machining that is not usually available at this price level. It's shaving sharp out of the box and opens up with a resounding, "snick." There's plenty of power in the hidden spring. The blade is activated by a recessed button on the handle. It would take an unusual series of events for it to accidently open in your pocket. The copper wash on the blade is very attractive. There is a stamp of "AUS8" on the blade as well as the logo. I've had good luck with AUS8 in the past. It is easy to sharpen and holds an edge for a reasonable amount of time. The blade shape is ideal for my usage. This is a GREAT KNIFE for the dollars. Don't let anyone BS you that it is, "entry level." It is a very usable knife that is priced right.
Being a former CA resident, I was deprived of this beauty until recently. This thing definitely has a snap when opening. The action is just as smooth as the Kershaw Launch series knives and the knife is very well-made. The blade came perfectly centered and sharp. You definitely won't regret buying one.
So many compliments on the design and look. I use it for work, cutting boxes and plastic, also an EDC. Great purchase!
I had a gift card to use and gave a lot of thought and review as to what to use it on , this Boker was my choice . It is very solid and the action is crisp and fast , the blade is sharp and pointy and comes back to true-edge with a few strokes of a honing steel . I like the way it sits in the pocket quick to hand with no fumbling to find the release button ... because of that I have yet to use the pocket clip . The clip BTW has very strong retention that I doubt will ever result in the loss of the knife as I have unfortunately lost others while on the job , overall a really nice choice for EDC and light cutting tasks . Remember guys , a knife is NOT a screwdriver , a pry-bar , hammer etc . ... it is a knife ... use it correctly and it will most likely give you long service ... try one of these Bokers and I think you will like it !
I have 4 of these knives. Great quality, great price, looks good, feels good. Even the case is cool.
This knife will spoil you if you are new to automatics. It is razor sharp with a smooth opener and a fast action
Ordered this knife and thought it was awesome! The problem is my wife thought it was awesome. Now I need to order another one because the one I ordered is now in her purse.
This is the perfect EDC for me. It looks cool, sounds cool and makes short work of everyday light-duty tasks. It tears through boxes, handles errant threads and opens stuff all while maintaining a sharp edge. I really appreciate the low-profile footprint of the pocket clip. I love this knife so much that I bought a few more to give as gifts.
I'm blown away by the quality of this knife. At this price point, it is a must have! Action is very snappy, and aggressive clip point blade is great for many tasks.
Love this thing! Snappy and super sharp. Sweet looking too. Great price on a killer knife.
I was blown away at how good this knife is, I thought it would be bulky or too small but it has the perfect weight and feel to it. The action is very smooth and has a satisfying snap to it! Super sharp out of the box, and nice to carry for utility and self defense. Blade HQ shipping was also fast and I got my item in 2 days after it shipped! Will definitely choose Blade HQ from now on, you guys rock!
Just received my order of this 1 & also of the serrated Kalashnikova Automat 74..This 1 I bought because I like the blade design as a hunting knife style blade .The 74 I got to use as a work / EDC knife.I have had other Boker knives & all seem like great quality. Both came sharp out of box This 1 seemed even sharper .Both had great action & snap to spring..This 1 though a little bit stickier, but sure will be better w/ use & oiling. Can't go wrong w/ any Kalashnikov /Boker knives Great quality/Value 4 the price.
I decided to purchase this knife as my first auto knife. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the knife for the price. The clip placement makes it optimal for EDC and the auto function is crisp and smooth.
This switchblade is just as good as others costing 2-3x as much. It fires like a rocket. I played with it enough that it did fly out of my hand once, so maintain focus. The handle feels great in my hands (Med size hands) and the pocket clip is ergonomic in that respect. It also has deep pocket carry. It came very sharp and will cut curves in paper out of the box. I'll probably end up purchasing different blade shapes just for fun. And this knife is a good switchblade to give someone as a gift, not too pricey and very high quality.
i bought this knife to see if i like autos before spending much more money on one. The action is great and i really like the color combo. this knife is working great as my current EDC blade.
Received My Knife today 1. Cool as all heck. 2. Smoothly smoothly slides out of pockets/into pockets. 3.light weight. 4. Dominating click sound when opened. 5. Sharp right out of the Box. 6. Suggested if you don't own one buy one.
My second knife of this model only a different blade shape. These knives have a solid opening function fast and solid no dragging. The blade is great with a needle point and a smooth consisted coating. The grip fits and feels perfect in your hand. If you're in need of a one hand opening knife this is for you.
This Desert Warrior with the Bowie Blade is an awesome purchase for me. The color combination, very strong spring action, as well as the sale price, made this purchase a "no brainer." It is built like a tank, solid and functional. It opens with an authoritative "Krack!" Weight balance is perfect. Very sharp and "stabby" right out of the box. I love the scales and molded finger grips. Feels good in the hand. If you're in the mood to treat yourself to something special that will make you feel like a bad ass every time you take it with you and show it off. I will probably buy a few more as special gifts for a few of my friends. Highly recommend this model. And as usual, BHQ out did themselves with flawless service and snappy delivery.
This knife is lightning fast. Pretty light and feels great in the hand. I'm 6 foot 3 with big hands and it fits and feels comfortable in my hand. The pocket clip is great too, sturdy, stiff and deep carry. And the price is great. I have many Boker brand knives and love their quality and styles. Great company. I just ordered another version of this knife, the black stonewash dagger style. Can't wait! Plus this company has very fast shipping! Will definitely return here again.
No complaints, amazing knife for what you pay for.
For the price, this is probably one of the best autos on the market. As far as blade steel goes aus-8 is cheap but stands up to wear of everyday use. Deployment is very snappy is actually quite powerful. Very impressed with build quality for the low price.
This knife, the desert warrior bowie Kalashnikov, has a strong spring and opens with a loud, attention getting click, it closes with a nice reassuring click as well. Solidly built and sharp. I also bought the Imperial white Kalashnikov, should be the same action but there is no click when closing this one. It feels kind of "mushy", which makes me have to double check it to make sure it's not going to accidentally fly open. Still, I like it and would buy another.
The knife came out of the box nice and Sharp. It opens up quick and is fun to play with. At this price I don't think you can go wrong purchasing this knife.
This knife is awesome the colors make it unique it came sharp and has a Flawless action. Highly recommend this at a great price can't beat it. This Bowie is working flawlessly.
Great knife for the money. Very snappy. Gets people’s attention when pulled out. Everyone compliments the looks. Haven’t had it that long but finish is holding so far. Sits in pocket good also.
I just got this knife and love it. It is my first auto and I can't stop using it. It is also a very fidgety knife just like all other autos. It is very sharp out of the box and the tip is also very sharp but be careful what you use the tip for because it is very thin. Overall, I love this Knife!
Fits in the pocket nicely, sharp / snappy action, good edge and easy to sharpen. G10 handles would be a nice upgrade, but can get and keep a strong on this knife without issue.
I love the looks and feel of this nice. the colors are meant to be together, and it opens so smooth with the push of a button. it's a sturdy knife and has a deep pocket clip. The only thing I didn't like about it is I thought the end of the clip came out too far and kept getting caught on things and would ether bent more or pull out of my pocket.
Great knife but it got rained on and I didn’t know it wasn’t stainless steel, so it got a little rusted. I love the knife but just FYI for anyone buying this knife!
This knife is in my current EDC rotation and was my first auto. The blade deployment is quick and authoritative and the knife came out of box with a good edge. I touched it up on a diamond stone and after a couple of weeks of light duty use seems to be holding pretty well. The aluminum handles are a little slick but I like the design of the deep carry pocket clip as it keeps the knife well concealed and the integrated finger grooves help you keep a nice purchase on the knife. Nice jimping on the scales and spine. Finish is ok but will start to get some "scars" with use. Can't beat this little auto for the price.
Blade came with a nice edge. Very snappy. Will purchase again, but it will be a different blade style. Tip was very thin and broke off at the very end. The sand color blade became tarnished soon after use so if that type of thing bugs you go with steel/Black blade.
Great overall knife but feel it would be a nicer feel if it had g-10 scales. Also the finish on the blade comes off far to easily.
Got my knife today in a cool lookin box shaped like an ak mag. Fit and finish is nice. Razor sharp out of the box. Opens hard and fast and locks up nicely. No wiggle. Blade shape is awesome however the tip is needle thin. Wouldn't use this for heavy work, but for an edc self defense knife it would suit you well.
My wife bought this knife for me for Christmas and I love it. It’s my first auto the springs are very snappy and blade was decently sharp out of the box. Only reason it’s 4 stars and not 5, I’m left handed and the pocket clip is non reversible, would recommend to anybody
Don’t get me wrong I like the knife. Solid deployment. Snappy quick. However there is an excessive amount of side to side play. But hey for this low price you really can’t expect Protech quality. In the knife world you really do get what you pay for. For the most part. Some budget knives are very well assembled and function as it should. This knife however is misses the mark. It’s built nice. Solid really minus the blade play. I’ll keep this as a talking piece. Scared to use it with the blade play. Is it a fluke or is it an actual knife design issue?.. maybe I’ll buy another one to find out.
Opens with authority and makes you feel like a bad mama jamma! The handle color gets worn quickly but adds to the aesthetic.
I love this knife. It is my favorite edc by far. Except I can’t edc it because the pocket clip keeps breaking off on me (twice now). I’m sure it is made the way it is to slide onto your pocket easily but it catches on everything. Other than that the knife is solid and the opening spring is strong and durable. Opens the same as the day I got it. Has never failed to completely open. 5 stars for sure if the clip didn’t break but it is kinda important so it only gets 3 for that reason alone.
Serious blade play. I have three of these(various blade styles/color combos) and an XXL, all with the same blade play issue. When the blade is deployed in locked position, there is a considerable amount of blade play side to side. The rest is all awesome. Feels great in hand, very snappy/solid deploy & best of all the Bowie blade. For the money it’s an ok buy, but given the blade play I feel like I’d be replacing it soon if I used it often. For that, it’s not used often.
