Description:
In 1947, Mikhail Kalashnikov completed development of a rifle designed to arm millions of Soviet soldiers. It is now known as the AK-47 and remains in active use to this day, being the most manufactured rifle in history. It is so loved because it gets the job done, is very economical, and keeps ticking, no matter what you throw at it. The Boker Kalashnikov knife is inspired by the iconic weapon, with a simple design, no frills, and maximum functionality. The Kalashnikov is made of high-performance, high-value materials. It has a strong lock, dependable action, and a handle that just wants to go to work. The Kalashnikov truly is a knife that makes its namesake proud!
Boker Kalashnikov Knives come in many sizes, a variety of blade shapes, and tons of colors! These knives also come in AUS-8 steel for a price you can't beat!
Looking to add some flare to your Kalashnikov? Check out these sleek Flytanium pocket clips! These pocket clips only fit the regular models not the Mini or the XXL.
*Automatic conversion knives are retrofitted by a third party to accept a coil spring. The factory warranty on these knives is void, but we do warranty the conversion/spring of these knives for one (1) year from date of purchase.
Great action, great looking finish, not much to complain about. Looks fairly intimidating in the unlikely event I need it for a self defense situation. I did have a bit of trouble initially getting it to lock out because I would hold the button down for too long, but I got used to it pretty quickly.
The knife arrived in good condition and on time. The action was scary snappy. And the finish was wonderful. The only cons to this knife are that it takes time to get used to the clip, the knife could be a little sharper upon arrival, and the paint on the handle wears quickly(but I find that looks cool especially with the finish) Overall I love this knife STOP HESITATING AND GET ONE!!
For my 1st automatic, I'm glad I chose the Kalashnikov, hit the button and it snaps to attention. Out of the box it has a very nice edge on it and fits my hand comfortably. Should be a fine edc knife.
This is an excellent sized knife for EDC that disappears in the pocket. The blade snaps out with very minimal blade play. The button is stiff so it won't fire in your pocket but isn't difficult to push either. The ergonomics are very nice with no hot spots. I don't have a lot of experience with AUS 8 steel but it came hair popping sharp out of the very nice box. All this for $40! 5/5 would recommend to everyone.
I am new to knives and was on the fence about this but it got really good reviews, and I was in the market for an automatic, so I gave it a try. From the minute I put it in my hand I have been impressed! - Sharp out of the box, snaps out wicked-hard and just feels like good quality! - Especially for the price! Buy the knife, you deserve it and you won't be disappointed! I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment with this fine tool!
The Kalashnikov is a great budget knife for everyday work carry. Even though it arrived with a sharp edge I gave it a shaving edge with just a few swipes on the hone. Holds it's sharpness too.
The Kalashnikov is one of the funnest budget autos out there. The action is super snappy. Feeling that blade fly open is immensely satisfying. It came sharp and the dagger style looks very cool. You can easily handle most casual knife stuff with it, and you’ll have fun doing so. Highly recommend.
its beat up, easy to sharpen, good looking and very great quality. for sure a knife that everyone should own.
Received my left-habded and right -habded Boker knives a few vdays ago. They open with authority!!!! They arrived sharp, and I just HAD to swipe them across a razor hone for an extra edge. I carry both, on the appropriate sides, and for tactical puposes.
This knife is a great value for the money. It is very snappy and feels great in hand. It cuts extremely well and came very sharp. This is my first auto and I am very impressed with the quality. Plus I love that it comes with a deep carry pocket clip.
It is a great budget auto. It kicks hard and cuts well!
love the finish, super durable and snappy
First auto I've ever bought, was interested in getting one, figured I should buy a cheaper one to see if I like it. Man oh man, is it just a blast, great action, super snappy, absolutely love it. Sharpens well and feels great in the hand.
This knife does exactly what it is intended to do. It works! This knife works very well for a utility or defensive purpose. It is nothing fancy, it just gets the job done. If you need a heavy duty off road truck capable of heavy work, you get a Ford or Ram truck. If you want a precision, refined work of art you get a Ferrari or Rolex type product. This knife serves its intended purpose very well. If you want a knife that is a showpiece work of art, buy a William Henry knife!!!
I've never in my life deployed a knife with such authority! Press the button and * FLICK * What really sold me (besides the sale price) was the stories of people who have used and abused this knife. I look forward to many years of flicking! :-)
I got a Kalashnikov for a friend, knowing that I would be getting one, too. For an auto you can't beat the price. Opens with authority! The style with the smokewash dagger blade is fantastic! Love the knife! It will be my go to gift!
I really enjoy this knife. I carry it almost every day. Seems well built and works nicely.
This wont be my last, I think I need a different one for every day of the week. Super fast ship.
Super fast release - Best priced auto around and a Boker to boot! Bought one and was so impressed I bought 3 other models.
Son loves this knife, says it's easy to sharpen and super strong deployment. He always carries this one in addition to one of his others he'll cycle in with it. And that's saying a lot cause his other knives are Benchmade/Spiderco.
This is an awesome knife for $40. I got one for my friend as well. I just wish autos we're legal to carry in PA.
I got mine on sale for $29.95. The box had been opened so I assume it was a returned knife. At first the release button was a little sticky and the blade a little slow to deploy. I loosened the pivot just a little and now it work good. It's nice to be able to adjust how you like the blade to snap out of the handle.
This is such a fantastic knife. The action on it is just phenomenal, and you'll wear your thumb out pushing the button so much. The ergonomics are great, and the whole thing feels incredibly sturdy in the hand. My only gripe would that it came a tad dull, and is being slow to take an edge. But the second part is on me. If you've been putting off getting this knife, just get it.
Everyone who likes knives has at some point wanted an auto. I mean it’s a freaking auto! Nice fit and finish, super comfortable and well done handle, and a quick action you’ll play with all day. The button lock will give some blade play, especially over time, but that’s just the territory of that lock up. Definitely recommend.
I chose this for my new carry knife, but I'm in high school so obviously I can't carry it, but everywhere else I go, it's in my pocket, it holds an amazing edge, action is snappy and reliable. The smokewash is subtle and only gets better as it ages. The aluminum handles age very well. I love everything about this knife!
This an awesome knife. Mine had a minor problem with the release button, but Blade HQ's excellent customer service sent me a new one that made the release quick and smooth. Deploys with a snap and looks good doing it.
The lock is solid w/ no play whatsoever. Didn't necessarily think the knife would be this solid of workmanship considering the lower price.
Shipping was FAST! Blade is exceptionally sharp, good action, a little oil and BAM! Smooth as silk. Going to buy a few more soon.
Look no further for a budget automatic. The AK is perfect for the price. Aluminum handle with excellent ergonomics, the knife rests very comfortably in my hand. AUS 8 steel which is hard to find at this price point. My only problem was the switch was a bit stiff but a little oil solved the problem.
I've owned a half a dozen automatic knives at this point. I inadvertently loose one every year or so because the spring clips allow the knife to slip out of my pocket too easily. I also have a bad habit of pushing my un-tucked shirt into the pocket with the knife, so that helps slip them out and they are gone forever. Not so with the Boker AK model, it has a SERIOUS spring for a retention clip. The automatic system is also superb, and has been flawless. I carry and use the knife daily, and I'm not easy on it. It's still very tight and hasn't shaken any screws loose yet, which has happened to every other model I've tried regardless of brand. The knife steel is also excellent. Ever get tired of buying a knife and it's the sharpest thing you've ever owned, then when it looses it's edge you can never get it back again. No so with the Boker, the steel is hard enough to hold an edge well, but also relatively easy to sharpen to bring it right back to new again. I highly recommend these knives, for those looking for an excellent product at a reasonable cost.
I own two one desert tan with serrated edge and a smoke wash straight edge. AUS8 is very good steel sharpens easy and holds an edge quite well. The knife is well made light weight and fits my hand better than any knife I own. Bought the smoke wash in the shop in Utah while vacationing. Nice little show room! I've ordered on line as well. Very fast delivery.
Nice knife, good steel & holds an edge. I would make one improvement, the release button has to be pushed way down. the recess opening needs to be wider or a larger button. I opened up the area around the button to allow my finger to push the button down to release. These people ship FAST. It's like they lived right next door. Buy with confidence. Great deal! A++
Wait, you don't own AT LEAST one of these awesome autos??
The action on these knives is fast and snappy, they lock up securely and are very well proportioned. They sit easily in your pocket and their ability to jump into action is impressive. My only gripe is the steel, they are the hardest knives I've owned to sharpen and keep sharp. 2 have been relegated to my SHTF bags and 1 occasionally gets gets EDC rotation
I ordered 2 smoke greys and one bead blast ( black) Kalashnikovs. Great knives, made well, and a satisfying automatic opening. That is for two of them... One of the smoke greys which I intended on giving as a gift has a defective opening (doesn't open all the way when the button is pressed) But it all worked out, I ended up keeping the defective and giving the other two as gifts. Other than that, I have no complaints. I love BHQ, always quality and speedy service.
Received Kalashnikov 74 within time frame stated. Package intact. Knife was unscathed with working edge. Subsequently tuned up with leather strop. No issues with construction quality. I feel like I got my monies worth at the advertised price. I purchase the Smokewashed and will add the Desert Warrior variant with my next purchase cluster.
Great knife for a great price. The blade had a little play out of the box but it tightened up easily and now it deploys rock solid. Extremely satisfying auto deploy. The ergonomics are decent though I much prefer the Boker Strike Auto to the AK in this respect. An all around good choice for an inexpensive auto EDC that you can abuse and not worry about. If you don't own one yet, buy one.
Like said so commonly, this knife has a great action and sharp blade. This is my second one and I recommend this to anyone who wants a great budget auto! Only complaint was that the blade came with a slight chip that I managed to work out with a sharpener in no time.
Sweet knife with great action!
Solid knife. Good quality construction and opens with authority.
Has a sharp blade and action is snappy. Just note that the Smokewash finish scratches easily.
Great knife for the money. May even pick up another one.
I am really impressed with the knife I got. It was sharp right out of the box. As well it seems to be of great quality. Would have given 5 stars except I ordered a stone washed blade. I am no expert but the knife I received seems to just have a black coating. Rather than go through the hassle of customer service and sending the thing back, I just decided to keep this one.
I really wanted to like this knife, but I just can't. First this was the dullest knife I have ever received from the factory. Use I know it is an inexpensive blade, but I expected it to be able to at least cut paper out of the box. On the first day I had it I cut plastic sheeting, just plastic and nicked the edge. Never had a D2 blade nick that easy. I have already had to reproduce blade and I've had it less than a week
