Amazing!!!
David L. on Oct 2, 2022

Use this knife for my work knife. Beat it up, it can take it. Although not the clip. It sticks out off the scales where I kept catching it on things. Took that off and toss it on a lanyard. Great knife, don’t pass on it!

Great value
Paul S. on Sep 7, 2022

Bought the AUS-8 version five years ago and have put it through some tremendous abuse while serving in the army. An everyday part of my uniform, I never go anywhere without it. My Soldiers are always asking what it is, assuming it’s some high-end expensive auto. All finish on the blade was gone by year three (it’s stainless and aluminum so it’s purely cosmetic), had to replace the Teflon washer inside after four years because it just wore thin (boker provided free replacements upon request), and the spring finally gave out after four and a half years. For something I only paid very little for on Black Friday I’ve gotten a lot out of this knife, and it’s still cutting. Highly recommend the new version with even better steel.

Solid & Snappy
DANNY R. on Jun 9, 2021

This is my second Kalishnikof 3.25 inch auto knife. I lost my first one & it was flawless. I just received my second order. Only took 2 days to my door. This knife is simply an outstanding value.

Awesome Knife Awesome Value
Jeff D. on Sep 19, 2020

I am quite impressed with this knife. The action is quick and smooth. The handle makes for comfortable use. The light weight provides an unobtrusive carry in a front pocket. I may have had concerns when I saw the far lower price than comparable items but there is no reason for that concern now that I have it in hand. Superb! I doubt this will be the only one I purchase.

Larry S. on Jul 27, 2020

Wow! I am so impressed with how strong the action is on this knife and the lockout is incredible. I was not expecting this quality of knife at this price. I am very happy with the Boker Kalashnikov. Very durable and a good looking knife. You will be very pleased if you want a well built knife with fast action and a strong lockout. I highly recommend the Boker Kalashnikov and Blade HQ (fast service and good prices).

A great knife!
Gordon H. on Apr 8, 2020

I read a few reviews where there were complaints on how hard it was to push the button and an answer about needing it to be a bit hard to push as there was not a safety. The action on this knife is great and no harder to activate than my more expensive knives. It came very sharp and a couple of strokes on my ceramic, you could shave with it! I will carry it for a few days to see how much I really like it but am pretty sure I will go back to my Benchmade mini Barrage as an edc.

Great Knife
Laurence D. on Jan 1, 2020

Great knife at a very reasonable price, Only had for a few weeks but I am very pleased with it ease of opening and its feel and performance.

Best knife for the price
Lee J. on Dec 18, 2019

There are better knives, but not any even close to this price. The auto mechanisms is fast and strong, the blade holds an edge well and the knife is strong. I have had mine for a year, bought my son one last Christmas and my work partner one this Christmas. Everyone that I know that has one loves it. This is a great knife to carry at work. I nearly cried when I lost my Benchmade, if I loose this one, I will order another one.

Amazing value for the price
Adam H. on Nov 22, 2019

I carried mine for 2 years and put it to work almost everyday and it has never let me down. Fast, solid action and lock up and a blade that retains an edge well. There's a reason why everyone has one, they're awesome!

My all-time favorite brand of auto's
Anthony S. on Oct 31, 2019

Look lets be honest not the best steel in the world. But you can hard use this knife for days! Durable and solid and great ergonomics as well! I love the different varieties of this brand as well I soon wish to have the entire line up and this action is the best one yet! So far I have the Kalashnikov in Damascus and I have the Black widow with the red hardware and blade! Just a great user and budget blade and fun to collect!

My new, favorite knife.
Richard L. on Jun 21, 2019

It's beautiful, it's made of the finest materials, it works splendidly and it's sturdily made. One of the best purchases, of any product, that I've ever made.

Buy it... now.
Chris R. on May 13, 2019

It's $40 and it opens like a slap to the face... It's easy to sharpen and it's solidly built... It's grippy and ergonomic, and it's got a deep carry pocket clip for sh!ts sake... AND IT'S $40! So like I said... if you're even bothering to read the reviews, just buy it already... it's only like forty bucks.

Very Nice
BEN D. on Apr 14, 2019

Well built, tight and proven design. If I had to knock something it would be the black finish on the blade. It seems to wear a bit easy and looks a bit cheap. But for $40 buy the stainless blade and you will be very happy.

Exceptional Value EDC Auto
Roger C. on Mar 28, 2019

I've never written an online review for anything but this knife is a true gem. If you're a hands-on worker and need a EDC knife that can take a beating: this is it. I carry a Gerber Covert Auto usually and picked one of these up as a inexpensive back-up blade, but it surpassed my expectations so much that I moved it to my main carry while on the job (still love the Gerber though). Definitely don't get this if you're looking for a discrete blade because this thing jumps so hard it sounds like you snapped a small branch. Rock solid lock up, excellent ergo on the handle with super grippy jimping (including on the butt of the knife incase you need to reverse your grip). Boker hit the nail on the head. If you're even remotely on the fence BUY IT. Best 40 bucks I've ever spent.

Awesome. Recommended highly
Cache D. on Mar 4, 2019

GREAT KNIFE. One of the very few good and reliable not to mention affordable autos out there. I love this knife and always will. Built strong and compact. Awesome action with a kick.

Best knife, screwdriver, crowbar, etc
Bodie A. on Dec 28, 2018

I currently have two of these knives, one is three years old the other about 1. The old knife is my primary work knife and I abuse it to no end. I have used it as a box cutter, a screw driver, wood chopping (wedged it into the logs with a large rock and pried large pieces off), a throwing knife, a crowbar for small home projects, a nail remover and then the everyday paper weight... The spring in it broke but it now has a slide-lock effect similar to the Benchmade knives where I can open and close it with a flick and it locks open/closed (IMO its better w/o the spring). This little guy has been heavily abused and keeps on going! The only reason for the second knife is I occasionally lose one and need the back-up. I switch my EDC between this and my Benchmade Griptillian

You just can't pass this knife up
Todd B. on Jun 8, 2018

Just got this in the mail today. BladeHQ got it to me super fast with just the standard shipping, A+ to them. My initial impression of the knife is great. The auto action has a crisp snap to it, very comfortable in the hand, the blade had a nice edge but I couldn't help myself to mirror polish it. I can't feel any play in the blade at all. It's comfortable to carry in the pocket. It'll probably be my new EDC. For the price I would say you can't beat it.

Great EDC
Anthony M. on May 29, 2018

I can't believe how good this knife has held up for me, going on a year now and the price to performance is great, I have lots of knives, Spyderco, Protech, Kershaw, so I use this knife as an edc, you can't beat it for the price.

Can NOT beat this knife for the price IMHO!
C. G. on May 23, 2018

Look, I'm no "knife expert", just an old vet who has a thing for blades. ALL blades. I have way too many and have a hard time passing a nice one by. This was my first auto--the prices gave me pause--and I thought "Hey, for $40 I'm willing to give it a try.". I'm REALLY glad I did. The BHQ-upgraded spring probably made a difference, but that authoritative "SNAP!" gave me a chill. Seriously. I'm not a "steel snob" and not sure it makes a lot of difference. I highly recommend this knife.....and am sure I'll be back to BHQ for another Boker Kalashnikov. I have no will power when it comes to knives.....

Boker Kalashnikov automatic knife
james w. on May 12, 2018

Perfect in every way! A little tank of a knife. Fires so hard it almost jumps outta yer hand. I bought 3. Perfect gift. 5 stars. For 40 bucks it feels like a 200 dollar knife.Very pleased!

Great knife
Alan E. on Apr 2, 2018

This knife has a good action. Knife is very sharp out of the box. For the money spent you can't go wrong. Recommended!!!

At This Price...Buy Two!
Ken L. on Mar 4, 2018

Okay, so if you're looking for an 'auto' knife, THIS is the one you want to get. Either the large size (3.25" blade) or the mini, it doesn't matter. This black one is an EDC for me, and fits very nice in the front pocket. Auto button works great, no hesitation. Extremely sharp OOB. I also purchased the green 'mini' Kalashnikov, and glad I did. The mini's would make very nice "hide away" knives. Get em while you can. If they ever get the different colors back in stock, I'll be getting at least three more.

Must have in your collection!
Jorge J. on Jan 26, 2018

Great edc knife, it is my workhorse knife that all my friends want to borrow and use.

Great auto folder
Joshua P. on Jan 6, 2018

This is the first auto that I’ve owned and I could not be more impressed. The blade shape is great for everyday cutting tasks. It came razor sharp and held its edge surprisingly well. I would definitely recommend this knife no matter what level of experience you have with knives.

***HIDDEN GEM***
steven b. on Jan 5, 2018

So I’ve been mulling this one over for too long and finally pulled the trigger, I bought one for me and a friend, as soon as I opened the action... BOOM!! Fires right out. Sharp out of box, grip is perfect, not too slick or grippy, clip is deep and it’s just plain beautiful. I don’t just want one in every color, I need one in every color!

Buy it, seriously!
Paul L. on Jan 5, 2018

Very good knife. You won’t be disappointed.

Great knife.Great price
Chris G. on Jan 5, 2018

I got the knife within 4 days. It was very sharp and functioned perfectly. Very fast auto action, and it carrys well.I've carried it for a week now and with the recessed deploy button I have not had any accidental openings. The grip is nice. This feels like a more expensive knife. Buy it

Nice knife
Lucas S. on Jan 5, 2018

Good knife, great carry size with the pocket clip and very smooth opening. Easy to sharpen when you need to.Good build quality also. I would highly recommend this knife.

Exelent Knife
VICENTE C. on Nov 17, 2017

This Boker has 4 years with me, not as EDC but frequently used. Fine action and blade edge. For the price is a wonderful knife.

Awesome knife!!
Nolan H. on Oct 29, 2017

Best bang for the buck automatic knife out there!! Perfect weight, great edge on blade from the factory, and the price is amazingly low!! Extremely fast firing too!!

Excellent knife for the price.
Paul V. on Aug 22, 2016

One of the best knives for the money that I have ever bought. Blade can shave hair off my arm from the factory and automatic action is strong and reliable. Just picked this one up, and it is just as reliable my first. Owned one of these for well over a year and carry one almost daily. Can cut through rope, boxes, and thick tape like butter. Thumbs way up.

very nice loving it
michael g. on Mar 27, 2015

I received my Kalashnikov 74 and its a very nice knife its my first auto and going to be everyday carry. I had only a little problem with mine it would not open on its own the blade screw was to tight. I loosened it a little bit and this this almost fell out of my hand once it opened. It opens very quick and hard. Best 37.00 knife I have gotten.

Nice knife
chet k. on Oct 28, 2022

I just recently purchased this one and really like it. Great price and good knife=can't complain with that.

amazing little beast
Noah T. on Apr 30, 2022

i have the discontinued version in aus8 steel instead of d2, and its amazing, its been frozen and run over and still fire fine, ive used it for cutting wires, cutting branches and almost any knife job you could imagine. over all a great knife very snappy and lots of fun, would recommend just check the knife laws of your state/city/country first ofc

Best auto
John V. on Mar 14, 2019

Never been a fan of autos but this definitely changed my mind and what a great price. This knife fits like a glove the ergos are outstanding melts right into ur hand. The blade snap is really nice a versatile for edc. Blade steel is aus-8 which I kinda like nice and easy to sharpen. And that snap when you open it, oh man it's as satisfying as a Zippo lighter not the same sound of course but just as amazing. Locks up beautiful no blade play on mine and has a nice weight to it. And that flush mount deep carry pocket clip oh man thing slides in amazingly no snags Only problem is came a bit dull had a real nice point but I like my knives a bit sharper other than that it's fantastic definetly best auto knife ive used

Good knife
Jewell R. on Mar 11, 2019

It’s a nice size knife, and feels good in my hand. The finish is very nice. But it did arrive quite dull. My only complaint would be the button release, as a personal preference. It is recessed which makes sense for an auto without a safety, but for my large hands, I have to use my thumbnail to push the release, which is an awkward angle. I also have the Boker Plus Strike, which I prefer.

Great gateway auto
Hunter A. on Feb 22, 2019

This knife got me into more expensive autos and I still carry it because it is just so fun and snappy!

Great budget automatic knife!
Heath B. on Jan 19, 2018

Great knife for the price! Been carrying this knife for a few months now and it has turned into my everyday carry! Thinking about ordering another! And ordering from bladehq is the best! Can't beat the prices and service!

Nice little knife
Michael G. on Dec 29, 2017

For an inexpensive auto knife it cant be beat. I did have to loosen the blade screw to let the knife open properly. It was just a little too tight. Came pretty sharp just stropped it for a nice edge. Very decent quality for under $40. Great addition to anyones collection.

Cheap steel
ALEJANDRO G. on Oct 13, 2022

Stop being deceived by the d2 steel craze/ movement. D2 steel is a cheap steal , unlike 440 and 420 hc 400 series steel. Yes , I know you have been told the opposite just like everything else in America which is a lie and the opposite. Especially 440c stainless steel is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel. That comes with high strength, moderate corrosion resistance, and perfect hardness and wear resistance. On the other hand, it is capable of attaining, after heat treatment, the highest strength, hardness and wear resistance of all the stainless alloys.

Idk
Clecy C. on Feb 27, 2019

It came dull out of the box...the angles were off..I got them right and sharpened it up, but I am starting to question the heat treat cause it rolls the edge just stropping it..something doesn't seem right here..never had AUS-8 do that!! I really like the knife, but it won't hold an edge! I don't want my money back, but I would like to exchange it...maybe it was just a bad one!

I guess you get what you pay for.
Justin J. on Jul 16, 2018

I was very excited to get this knife. I read tons of reviews on it and only a few had negative things to say. But when I received it in the mail today I was a little disappointed. First let's start with the good. The action is great, nice and smooth. The blade isn't loose in the handle and the finish on the handle looks great. The finish on the blade is nice as well ( but I did manage to mess that up a little but I will get to that). Now for the bad, one side of the blade has a 27 degree angle on it and the other side has about a 40 degree angle. The plunge line on the blade is about an eighth of an inch off from one side to the other. After about an hour and a half of reprofiling and sharpening, on stones, I managed to get it close to right(that is the part where I messed up the finish on the blade). But all in all for the price it's ok, if you don't mind putting in a little work to get where it should be.
