Description:
In 1947, Mikhail Kalashnikov completed development of a rifle designed to arm millions of Soviet soldiers. It is now known as the AK-47 and remains in active use to this day, being the most manufactured rifle in history. It is so loved because it gets the job done, is very economical, and keeps ticking, no matter what you throw at it. The Boker Kalashnikov knife is inspired by the iconic weapon, with a simple design, no frills, and maximum functionality. The Kalashnikov is made of high-performance, high-value materials. It has a strong lock, dependable action, and a handle that just wants to go to work. The Kalashnikov truly is a knife that makes its namesake proud!
Boker Kalashnikov Knives come in many sizes, a variety of blade shapes, and tons of colors! These knives also come in AUS-8 steel for a price you can't beat!
*Automatic conversion knives are retrofitted by a third party to accept a coil spring. The factory warranty on these knives is void, but we do have a warranty for the conversion/spring of these knives for one (1) year from date of purchase.
The Kalashnikov auto fires with authority! The blade is nice and tight with no side-to-side play and is centered nicely. It did need a little bit of sharpening but other than that you can’t beat it for what you get!
I've carried and abused this knife for several months now. The finish wears off pretty easy but for something I use as a tool very often this doesn't bother me. It still opens just as good as it did new with a solid kick. It holds a good edge to be budget steel and sharpens easily.
After avoiding the basic Boker auto with the spear point (and especially the one with the skull on the blade) they came out with the harpoon tip blade. As I've said before, I like all of the Boker knives that I have, and the autos are similarly well designed and engineered for snappy blade deployment. If you have the option and ability, these are good little knives for the price. PS, also think it is pretty cool that the presentation box is shaped like an AK47 magazine, that couldn't be easy, and so my point is this shows they put the time and effort into making Quality!
I have several Boker Kalashnikov Autos, I think they are the best budget auto on the market no one even comes close. It has a very snappy spring that is far and above even my Benchmade Auto-Stryker. I can see myself buying several more of the Kalashnikov Autos. The AUS-8 Steel holds an edge well and resharpens to shaving sharp fairly easily. You can't go wrong with this knife, worth every penny.
I love this knife, especially the harpoon blade. This easily clips into the corner of the pocket. The ribs on the handle enhances your grip and are very comfortable. With the deployment button tucked away it is still positive to deploy. This knife is at the top of my EDC list, along with my launch 10, crossbones, CEO,and Ruike Hussar!
so I bought two BK's at once, because they are so cheap, why not get a couple at a time? My only other experience with auto's is the Kershaw Launch 4, which is a pretty decent knife. Now, when I bought two at once, I expected there to possibly be a bit of a difference in feel between the two, but the difference is pretty drastic. The other version I got is the blue handled spear point in what I think they call a Blackwash finish, while this harpoon model is in plain Black. The harpoon model DEFINITELY feels like a smoother operation, while the other model feels gritty, like several other reviewers on that product page have noticed. I am hoping that will work itself out after time. Regardless, if you are accurate and deliberate with your push, the blade pops out, with authority. This one just flat out comes with a smoother operation that requires less pressure and feels smoother as the blade flips out. I suspect the difference in the finishes is playing a part in this. Did NOT come very sharp, so I will have to work on that. I'd really do 4.5 stars on this but it's not allowed. It's a cool, fun knife for the money.
Typically I'm not a big fan of finger grips, but the grooves on this knife fit my hand very well. The push button is well placed and recessed just enough to keep from opening accidentally. The action opens with a snap and has no slop. I own many knives and this one is already an EDC knife. I recommend to anyone that can legally possess one.
This is a great looking knife, the Harpoon blade stands out and gives a unique look to the knife. The lock up is firm with no movement, The overall hand fit is great with no sliping. The blade is fast and deploys with a nice snap. I enjoy using this knife for every day carry. Excellant Price for a great feeling cool looking Knife.
Very snappy, nice lock up, sturdy knife. Would have been 5 stars but the button is kinda squishy, and the finish comes off easy.
I'm kinda fond of this knife but the harpoon blade shape is not for me. The closed grip is awkward because of the harpoon protrusion from the handle. Nice knife but I'm going to keep looking for a higher grade automatic with all my desired features. Now I know why some guys carry $400 knives.
