This knife looks sharp, and it is very easy to sharpen, since the cutting edge is straight. It was decently sharp coming out of the box, but perfectionist that I am, I wanted to have it even sharper, if possible. I will be using this knife every day, so these things are important to me. This is a hard-working knife that is a good deal at this price. Thanks!
One of three I bought this one was a gift. All of these knifes are well made and nice looking with a smooth finish. You will really like them.
I odored 4 of these knifes for x-mas gifts. They are really sweet knifes for the money. I am ordering 2 more for myself! Quality auto and very well designed. So many to choose from. Thanks Blade HQ for introducing me to these great knifes.
I have had several Boker knifes they just keep getting better . I lost my last one so I got a new one . They make them to use and stay sharp.
I’ve had this bad boy for a few months now and it’s still a champ! Thousands of deploys later, it still kicks like a donkey. It’s just like the classic, but the blade shape is much more utilitarian, and great for cardboard, which is what most of us use out knives for anyway. The aus 8 hasn’t needed sharpening yet, so that’s reassuring. The blade and pocket clip have started to wear, as they are painted, but no damage other than cosmetic.
The knife came in earlier than expected and very great quality. The spring is very strong and smooth. Would definitely recommend
Aside from the grip, the finish the edge and the design, this is the first reverse tanto I have used. It is great for most of my chores. I may even try some detail carving with it.
One of the best work knives I have ever used. I’ve had another style blade for a couple years and no problems. I have to say I broke the tip off prying on something but I shaped it into a sheepsfoot easily and as I’m an electrician, I like it even better but it’s now a bit short for the handle when closed. Can I suggest that for a new style blade. It’s true that the paint comes off the blade easily but I disassembled the knife soon after realizing that fact and removed the paint from the blade because I’m ocd and have the means to make it my own. It’s a great knife, I strongly suggest it. I have to add I’ve bought two more for friends but will be modified before gifting. I use it many times every day, along with a blue/red DMT sharpener, it’s the perfect combo.
I love this blade!! Super sharp nice snap and blade is out. Handle feels great in hand. Like the wharncliffe blade a lot!! What I like best is the weight.. won’t weigh my chef pants down when I carry it at work
Well when I got it it wouldn't deploy, but it turns out it just needed some breaking in. 5 minutes later it's f*cking awesome. Great blade. Fast deployment. I'm kinda glad I had to break it in at first. Shows how solid this spring is. Super fast action. You get what you pay for. I see others also mention "best automatic for under 50 dollars" I must agree. 5 stars overall, 10 stars for the price. Buy it. This is my second boker automatic via Blade HQ.
This knife has a very strong, positive, action that snaps right into place every time. This is one of my beater knives and I've put it through a lot, but I've never had a single problem with the lockup. You won't find a better automatic knife in this price range.
Pretty nice knife, after a few days there was a slight bit of blade play, but a quick tighten got it all good. Action is fast and smooth so no fear of opening in pocket. Worth the price
Love the action on this knife. Fast and crisp. The blade shape is good too. Did not come the sharpest from factory but that is easily remedied.
I'll admit I am not normally a fan of assisted knives or autos but this little guy has won me over. It came very sharp and the action is... snappy, to say the least. Only con is that it can be quite loud when opened. The button takes a hard push to actuate which I suspect is a safety feature. The pocket clip is deep carry and hides the knife completely. Ergos are excellent! I am a fan of this style of blade, it is pretty utilitarian. The tip is very fine so this won't be a prying knife. This will be in my regular EDC rotation.
Great little blade
This is one of the coolest AK74s out there. The blade is thin behind the edge and crazy sharp. The tip is really pointed and it looks unique and tactical. I have owned mine for 2 years and I do baby it (stays at home, can't EDC an auto). The knife fires hard and has outstanding ergos as all AK47s do. A must for any collection of AK74s, big or small. Buy now because these do sell out at times.
This is a great knife it's very sturdy and opens hard. Mine came very sharp I've had it about two weeks and have carried everyday to see how durable it is and so far it's been awesome (2 weeks isn't long but I like it a lot so far). It took 3 days to ship and arrived in perfect condition.
For the price (I paid $39.95) this knife is a good value. However, the finish on the frame is terrible. After carrying for a couple of months, the finish has worn off all the edges leaving the silver color of the underneath metal. Again, I love this knife. It's fun to play with and easy to carry. Just wish the finish was more robust.
Easy sharpening, good edge retention, and my favorite blade shape. It makes me smile every time I open one. Handles fade quickly, scales corrode easily, needs care in cleaning. I wish it was a little bit bigger.
It came sharp and very pointy. It is a great look, but only one down side is the finish. It wears off very easy. I have carried for about a week. The blade and pocket clip have some paint missing. I liked it so much I bought another one just different blade.
Deep pocket clip, comfortable in the hand. Sharp. Lots of looks when you pull it out. Buy it.
Got this last year and so far has held an edge well. The action is strong and the button has to be pressed into the handle decently far. It disappears into my pocket and I hardly notice it's there. I am taking a star off for the pocket clip since it is ugly as sin and the end kinda scoops up too much. If it was replaced by a straight pocket clip, it would be 5 stars for sure.
I received this knife in a few days after ordering it, so shipping was quick. One complaint, the box has factory sealed stickers on it that were both cut when I got it. The knife had been opened already and played with at BHQ, fingerprint smears all over the blade. With that off my chest, the knife itself is a really nice auto for this price point. The size was a little smaller than I was expecting, but the contours fit in my hand comfortably. Plenty of grip with the top and butt jimping, molded in texture, and finger contours in the aluminum handle. Blade deployment took a lot of pressure on the push button at first, but the action is smoothing out with use. Fires out very quick and has a satisfying snap when locked open. Locked position is tight. Push button requires a deep push, so no worries about accidental deployment in the pocket. The clip is a little funky looking, but the ripples actually give your fingers something to hook onto when pulling it out of your pocket. It is a deep carry clip but has only right hand tip up carry option. Blade is shaving sharp out of the box, typical Boker. Fit and finish is excellent and the blade is perfectly centered in the handle when folded. Time will tell how the finish holds up, the clip and handle are painted while the blade seems like it has a coating of some sort. I typically like the Wharncliffe shape blades because it suits me better for the work I do with them. This blade worries me a little due to the extreme thinness at the tip. You will really have to be careful and absolutely not do any prying or digging with the tip. All in all, I am happy with my purchase, and would do so again, but I might opt for a different blade shape due to the tip thinness.
Nice knife and shipping was fast. A little disappointed with the blade, not very sharp at all out of the box.
